HITMAN 3 - Something wrong with server

@Hayamoto Please don’t downplay issues in general only because they are not needed for biological survival. Especially during the pandemy it is easy to assume the mental health does need distraction from daily problems.

It is not adding anything to the discussion to do these statements.

It’s a reality check, especially for the younger players that are still in school. There’s no patience, everything has to be “Now!”. What happens when a parcel gets delayed in customs despite paying for expedited shipping? You get annoyed, and then you move on.

I understood your intention behind it, but parental advices are not really the responsibility of this forum.
We only wish that the issues, which are indeed issues, are addressed in a civil manner. If someone just jumps around shouting then that is our concern but we rather try to make the person express themselves more civil than not caring about it anymore.

Of course everything has to be now.
IO took my money NOW!, not the other way.
If I can play the game first and pay whenever I want, I won’t complain
Or, do you have any idea of the concept ‘SALE’, ‘CONTRACT’, and ‘PRODUCT’?

Yes, because what everyone really needs in the middle of a global pandemic is a reality check…

Looking at the fact that it is already going on for 5 Days, a “Now” Is kinda fair at this point. Also we shouldn’t forget about the Artbook and Soundtrack we still haven’t got.

From my perspective, I pre-ordered a game that has some issues at launch. I’ve played the Hitman games since high school, more than 15 years ago, and have always enjoyed playing them, so it’s not a big deal for me. The game will still be there a week, a month, or a year from now. People are free to complain, but there’s a group of us, the “fanboys” some would say, that are here for the long run.

TV shows, films, and games, are more accessible than ever, so it’s hard to believe that people can’t do something else until the issues have been resolved. Failing that, there’s always studying, working on career development, exercising, and socialising online.

Edit: It’s actually probably closer to 20 years ago, but anyway.

I totally agree. I went to my local game store last month and took a copy off the shelves without paying. I got a visit from the police saying that the store wanted the money NOW. I refused and stated that they need to have patience and will need to wait until I am ready. The police tried to arrest me to take me to the station and I resisted stating that I will only go when I am ready. I was due in court recently about the matter and didnt attend; they will have to wait until I’m ready

I received a bill for electricity usage but refused to pay by the deadline. I will only pay it when I am ready.
I sold some items on ebay but only sent the buyer half of what was agreed. Despite the buyers protests I will only send the rest of the items when I feel like it

It’s been said countless times before, but if you’re not happy then get a refund. Is anybody stopping you from doing that? That’s why consumer laws exist.

I dont attend work on time. It may be a breach of contract but I will only attend when I am ready

I really disapprove of you disparaging remarks, insinuating that the valid frustrations expressed by many here are due to some level of immaturity (still in school etc).

When you have to provide food for yourself and a family, when you have to pay for a car, fuel, tax, insurance, MOTs, and repairs, and when you have to furnish a house whilst paying a mortgage (or rent) and bills, the last of your worries, more so during the pandemic, is the fact that a video game isn’t working at launch. So, yes, when people equate those things to a video game, I imagine that they are in school with nothing better to do than to play video games.

Just to refute this… I pay for all of these things whilst also working a frontline job that requires full PPE.

And right now, the fact that I can’t unwind while playing the new video game I have payed a lot of money for is pretty high on my list of things I’m thinking about.

I agree, it’s just the comparisons that I take issue with.

Well said although it does appear that Hayamoto cant make his mind up. One minute he insinuates that we are childish then he agrees with us. Anyway that wasnt the reason for my reply. I will say it thus. Gaming is a multi billion dollar industry kept afloat by a loyal player base. On that basis alone it is extremely important and it contributes to the worldwide economy whether that be VAT or employee wages. In recent years that loyal player base has been increasingly mislead and ripped off. This is in part due to ‘fan boy’ culture where allegiances are borne out of a fanatical attachment to certain games companies. This leads to erosion of integrity in the form of micro transactions, bugged releases, day one dlc, extortionate rrp (demon souls remake 70 GBP??? I dont think so!).
People with valid criticisms are shot down and this plays into the developers hands.

I haven’t changed my mind, you’ve just failed to comprehend what I wrote.
The IOI team behind the Hitman WOA trilogy have given us a huge amount of content post-launch, support for the legacy maps, and no micro-transactions. What more do you want?

I want to ask people here to end the discussion about what the way of spending time of other people is worth.

This thread already exists multiple time so it would not hurt me too much to just close it and encourage people to discuss the issue there and leave the offtopic here.

I also want to point out that the developer is not the enemy here but the partner. It plays into IO’s hands if we give them as much feedback as possible to pin down the issues to fix them.

For the game to function.

Goes without saying.
