HITMAN 3 VR: Reloaded (Meta Quest 3 Exclusive) - Sept. 5th 2024

Finally reinstalled to test patch 2. Game now clocks in at a whopping 40GB - more than Batman and Metro combined… and it’s still broken. Like the last patch, it did fix some things - but at the expense of other things. I noticed way more things that are now broken rather than improved, with the rating system being the only noticeable plus.

Aside from the rating system, I’d say that the launch version is the best of the three since the game has gotten progressively worse. It’s like those cartoons where the character plugs a leaking ship hole only for three more to appear.

I’ll put out a video on it, but I’d say the game is beyond redemption.

IOI, if you’re listening, don’t invest more into Hitman 3 VR. Get Flat2VR to make a VR version of Silent Assassin or Blood Money instead, as that would play better and look better. Resi 4 VR is the best game on Quest (excluding Metro  ) so there’s no reason you couldn’t do the same thing! Give us a good Hitman game on Quest. After XR Games’ disaster, I think they deserve it!

Not sure about the classics, but a VR dedicated standalone Hitman game, designed specifically to accomodate all quirks of VR and make the best use of them, instead of trying to shoehorn a flatscreen game into VR, can have some incredible potential!

That could be cool. Perhaps like Contracts where he’s remembering old contracts. Then you could have a mix of levels from every game, with perhaps some new levels in there too!

Here’s some brief footage and thoughts on the patch. I wish I could include stuff like the black screen when walking through the ducts when it loses tracking, but the length of the short isn’t enough to show off all the problems that still exist and have been added.

Are unlocks still broken? For me that’s the main issue with this release. They even mention non-default starting locations fixes in patch notes, but as far as I understand, there’s no way you can unlock them

Starting locations have always been unlockable even though they dont tell you how. However, there’s nothing more bar like two or three items.

We’ve just checked out the latest patch for Hitman 3 VR Reloaded. Still pants, but it’s moving in the right direction.

Came down here to say I dont understand the hate with the game.

It’s a buggy mess, sure (in some places); But the gameplay is fun and often times the bugs are part of that.

I had a good hour or so taking a crack at Dubai, messing about, getting into dumbass situations, and even getting through the mission. Obviously, each to their own. But I still had a laugh looking at the Meta Horizon reviews.

It is definitely improving, but still needs a lot of work. A VR game should not run this badly and have so few functional interactions. That should be the bare minimum for a VR experience.

The base game underneath is still fun, but this game ports it so badly that it dampened my love for the game.

I hope they continue to patch it though and maybe one day it will feel like the game it should have been.

I don’t see how it runs badly at all, I think it’s quite the opposite.

The game is running on a 27gb file, it’s not gonna look good by any stretch of the imagination; But it has it’s own style though.

And functional interactions? I think there’s more than enough, I love duel-wielding sawn-offs.

XR Games added a few extra sniper rifles into the game with the latest patch in order to appease those looking for a Sniper Assassin rank.

But, where do you find them?

In this video, I’ll show you exactly where you can grab them!

With the PSVR2 version on the horizon, we decided to count down the days by replaying Hitman 3 VR Reloaded on Master difficulty!

Before we’re allowed to take out anybody though, we have a little training to undergo!

EDIT: can’t do three consecutive replies so having to edit in the next video :frowning:

After a successful(ish) training session, we head off on our first proper mission: Dubai. As a professional, I’ll have zero trouble blending in with the upper classes!

Alexa Carlisle is next on our list, as we head to her mansion in Dartmoor. Luckily for us, she has already prepared her funeral plans - all that’s left is a body.

The ICA are hot on our trail, but little do they know that their hunters are in fact the prey.

The ICA will regret the day they turned on me.

The Constant has a lot to answer for. Let’s have a nice friendly chat.

Hitman VR drops on PSVR2 today and offers a range of immersive actions that people expected from Hitman 3 VR on the Quest.

It’s unlikely that a massive overhaul is going to be made, especially over half a year after launch, but that doesn’t meant that XR Games can’t make some small changes that will make a huge difference to the immersion and make it closer to what Hitman fans want in a VR title.

Sure, there’s plenty more that would be ideal, but with a little luck and a desire from the company to treat Hitman fans right, maybe we can see some of these changes and the game may finally be worth recommending to Quest owners!

Thanks Charlie!

Anyway, I have been asked by the head of XR Games to join a Zoom call with him to discuss Hitman 3 VR Reloaded.

As part of the HMF community, I want to make sure I address your concerns. Whilst I do not have specifics, I can speculate that they either want to share details on the future of the game or find out what the fans want them to do to make things right.

Please let me know of anything specifically and I will try my best to ask on your behalf and feed back any information I get!

The only issue I have with the VR is the fact that unlocks are broken. I don’t know if this is a client-side issue or whether others are noticing this too.

Dubai is a huge map, jam-packed with enemies and - more importantly - security guards. Can we clear out the entire building?
