HITMAN - Anniversary Roadmap

Twitch is “it”, probably could’ve worded that better. But yeah, gonna have to agree to disagree. Obviously IOI is trying to drum up buzz around the game by doing this, they’re a company of course, but that doesn’t mean that twitch drops in of itself doesn’t have merit, it’s just a fun bonus thing that you can get if you want, obviously helps if you’re already engaged with twitch, otherwise you feel “forced” to participate instead of rewarded for watching whoever you were going to watch anyway. I can also feel for collectors/completionists, but that’s more of a niche problem I would argue.

Anyways, I just don’t subscribe to being cynical about companies because you could easily go into a deep rabbit hole and dismantle anything you love into “company trying to squeeze every cent out of their consumer”.

If that’s the case, that’s a bit strange, I would assume there wouldn’t be any lips to sync, so to speak, since that kinda defeats that point.

Hmm, I thought they still wanted the mouth area to be functional for when 47 speaks in game, but I just tried it in game in Bangkok on the phone and his mouth didn’t move at all

So I’ve got no clue why they’ve done his head in the wrong shape then!

Really great roadmap. The sniper suit looks beautiful, the pumpking suit is finally unlockable and the C47 suit looks so disgusting It migh become my new favorite. I also really like that apparently there’s going to be several challenges across many maps, I hope they’re similar to the Jambia challenge on Dubai.

I have only two criticisms:

1). Calling The Food Critic a “fan favorite” is like a bad taste joke.

2.) I’ve never heard about Twitch drops before, and now that I know what they are I can say I absolutely hate them. I couldn’t give two craps about twitch, I don’t want them to force me to create an account just to watch a streamer I don’t know or care about and risk having the ET spoiled for me.

As much as I don’t want to do all that, I will have to because my OCD wouldn’t let me miss the new suit.

I got a Twitch account a good while back. I think it might’ve been to watch something Markiplier was doing, but I don’t watch him anymore. Then IOI started having their livestreams talking about H1 (I think) and H2.

I guess I’m going to leave these here for anyone to consider whatever Hitman (content) Streamer you might want to watch. Sorry if it redirects. Open in a new tab just to be on the safe side.

Frote7

Those are the 2 that immediately come to mind. Sorry if forgot or am unaware of any others I could’ve linked to.

Decided to play Himmelstein to see how easy it is to complete tomorrow’s challenge (turns out its really easy) - but at some point IO seem to have broken how mission time is calculated in Sniper Assassin. I assume its showing real-time, rather than factoring in when you’ve used the sniper’s slow-mo.

The mission has a 15 minute timer and I was finishing it with the timer still at 14:XX minutes left, but the mission completion screen was saying my time was over a minute. So yeah… Don’t use that on-screen timer while playing as a gauge on whether you’re within the time limit for the challenge.

Hmm, yeah there is some weirdness I can understand with this Twitch Drops announcement.

For one thing, why is this single-player game getting a bonus outfit available from the streaming site, so late into production? It’s strange, especially for just a purple coloured Platform suit, when we also still don’t have Stadia.

And also, strange to be promoting it for their one new limited time ET. Hitman’s mostly a solitary game, and the joy of discovering events and ways to manupulate levels is a big fun factor. Watching streams is… a bit of an oddity. Unless it’s some speedrunning! (I expect IOI will have recruited a few well-known Hitman streamers to be able to send out Drops by streaming on those days, so there’s that)

But yeah, it’s definitely weird to see, especially now of all times.

It’s also their “very first” Twitch Drop. So… we can either expect to see Purple Snipers and other tools pop up in the coming months, or this is prep for some 007 promos too. Or even Project Fantasy given that might be an online RPG.

Personally, in a first-world-problem mindset for me, is that I don’t particularly care. Yeah it feels out of nowhere and just for business deals to do business with Twitch, but hey, its a suit, and it’ll be easy to unlock as any other Drop I’ve done for other games… :person_shrugging:

I guess it’s curator contracts, from some of the puzzle contracts lover…

The Twitch drops thing is being done to get eyes on the game during the biggest new content release since Freelancer, so it makes sense to me.

Mildly annoying to achieve sure, but it’s only for a color variant. That and presumably without an in game challenge associated, completion percentages wouldn’t get affected.

The Sniper Challenge suit looks great although 1:47 seems a very tough ask. I think there’ll be a large chunk of the player base who won’t ever be able to achieve that. I seem to remember even when I was playing Sniper Assassin regularly on H2 my best time was like 5 mins or more lol.

Edit: I just checked the PlayStation leader boards and there’s only 4 players who are under 1:47 on Himmelstein. So yeah, maybe only the top 20-30 players in the world will ever unlock that suit.

Those would be players under 1:47 while maintaining a Silent Assassin rank - the latter of which isn’t required for this challenge (based on the blog post).

Yeah hopefully it might just be the 3 main targets you need to get rid of then.
Even without SA, if it’s the whole map it still seems pretty tough because then you’ll invariably have to try and eliminate everyone whilst they’re escaping. I hated having to do that lol.

Most of the bodyguards are fairly easy to take out without hiding the bodies and they won’t be found within the 1:47. I did a few run throughs earlier to test it out and the escape only kicked in with about two bodyguards and Doris Lee remaining.

It takes a few tries but you can quite easily have everyone else dead already, waiting for Doris Lee’s helicopter to land (since you can’t kill her until she leaves it) for the final kill. And once they’re fleeing, just bust out the Shockwave ammo and it becomes easy to finish it up.

I tried it, got 1:42(ish) or was it 1:35? , but body found, escaping, and some non-target kills. So under 1:47 with SA will likely be very difficult for the majority of players.

Ah sounds promising then guys, I’ll have to give it a try later. Get the old muscle memory working again!

All of this is my opinion, so beware.
(but I have this feeling for a few months now)

It’s for the same reason that we have a sudden partnership with a DJ that made them suddenly have a whole ET in the pipeline.
IOI is now independant, broad, and international.
So they have a lot of essential and important management to deal with that, and everything about partnership and brand is internal. Their minds both wander there, and decision making might have been skewed a bit more toward them. At worst because of a power imbalance in the current hierarchy, at best because of the circumstances that will pass.

I just hope it won’t impact the core game developments, and where decision making is centred in the company. As I said there could now be some imbalance in the decision making, but it could just be that the devs themselves are busy behind the scene, investements are needed, brand is growing, and everything balances fine internally.

I remember that the largest things that made me doubt CD Project Red capacity for Cyberpunk 2077 before release was when they made an ad with Porsche, as in the ad was for Porsche, by Porsche, with a cyberpunk 2077 take. And CDPR were very proud of it.
And we now all know what it meant for the devs, and then the game behind the scene.
I hope it’s not the same.

Is there currently an option to link out IOI accounts to Twitch? I can’t see nothing in my IOI account settings or on Twitch which gives me the option?

I’ll be honest, the UI in BM isn’t better, It’s notoriously unfriendly to learn or understand how certain things work, and its rendered way too small on modern PC’s, so this is certainly an improvement on things.

So I just tested The Last Yardbirds myself and I’m gonna stick to my original statement, only really good players with 20/20 mastery of the Ghost will be able to get 1:47, Silent Assassin or not.

Very difficult challenge for the casual or noob players, especially on consoles.

Very good stuff proposed this month with nice outfits. Looking forward to Sniper suit. Really like it.
But unfortunately, my pinkie is broken and I’ve a cast for an undetermined period :sob: impossible to play with a controller…
Really hope that my cast will be removed to get a try with the Drop (planned for the end of October). Or at least, I do hope that the Drop will be included in a future Arcade ET escalation.

Beside I’m not a fan of Twitch drop… TBH, I don’t like the purple suit, so I don’t mind about it.
