HITMAN Classic Trilogy Remastered (C47, SA, Contracts - Saber Interactive - 2027)

Guys its probably wise to temper down expectations for this remaster. Some of my concerns are:

  1. Possibility of the art style being too cartoonified. I did not like how Aspyr did Tom Raider’s remastered. The lighting had less contrast and the models looked too cartoonified. The GTA Remasters too suffered from over-cartoonified visuals. It seems devs are forced to default to it to make up for the low poly OG assets.
  2. Gameplay won’t have major changes. I don’t think even Instinct is gonna make it. Just a gut feeling. People hoping for AI changes, gut feeling says they won’t go to the efforts of tweaking AI for individual levels and bother with all the balancing . The focus of remasters are usually visuals.

Basically anything that requires a bit more effort is not gonna make it.

I hope so. I want to play the games i know and love on a modern console, i dont need or want any changes on gameplay.

I do believe that we should expect some kind of changes in the controls of Codename 47. I can’t image it being easy to port from PC to consoles, where H2SA and Contracts already had a console ports and hopefully plays like they always have.

Codename 47 would benefit from more updated controls. Brining it closer to H2SA / Contracts. Giving a more seamless experience for those who either wasn’t around or haden’t played these games.

I hope they keep Instinct away from all three titles or if they are going to introduce it, you should have the option to play without. I believe instinct was added to BM, in one of the mobil versions.

Wonder if IO dug out the ancient cancelled PS2 port of C47 from the archives to save some of the work they’d have to do.

IO isn’t the ones who are remastering the game, it’s Saber Interactive. But who knows, they might have access to said port. If said PS2 port even exists and if it does, does it even function several decades later.

On your first point I do agree this art style is gonna be tricky to pull off . Especially with contracts .

On your second point I think none of the people here who love these games care for the gameplay to be updated in anyway .

Point 1 is a valid concern, but luckily it should already be addressed by the ability to freely switch between the original and remastered look. So if you don’t like the remastered one, you don’t have to use it.

As for point 2, I don’t expect nor want any gameplay changes myself, aside from maybe tweaking C47’s controls to be more like H2SA and Contracts, so that one doesn’t bother me. I don’t want instinct and the likes in these old games (and if it is there, I hope it has a toggle-off option).

I hope the design team won’t make the Remastered models end up like whatever this Slop was.

If these models are the actual ingame models, we’re in for a treat, i’d say.

And tbh, i dont think he could look worse than the WoA Codename 47 Suit.

It doesn’t seem to be ingame. These look like new renders. 47 looks different in all three poses, and they certainly won’t bother with making different models for each game.

I dunno if they are gonna bother remastering them might as well make gameplay tweaks without breaking balance. Fix bugs, broken AI etc.

Otherwise it’s just gonna be a glorified port.

Why not? If they’re going to go through the effort of creating new renders how much of a difference is it to change them for each game?

I dunno, it’s just a gut feeling. Source is literally just a feeling lol.

For C47 I kinda hope not.
47 in-game slightly loose shirt and tie is a detail I really like about the first game.
This model, based on the cover, does not.

For gameplay, the one “change” I hope to see is the camera.
C47 uses a “character follow the camera” system, and “Interactions linked to the center of it”
It’s a weird mix of behaving like a first person game, but with manoeuvre of a third person one.

I hope to be able to have a more modern system of a free camera with separated character movement control.
And with it gameplay interactions linked to spatial position of 47, not the camera pointing at them.
If only as an option.

The other question is, will it be digital only or we going to get a physical copy with a disc??

I want the remastered physical version in my hand!!:star_struck:

^^^ THIS ^^^

I definitely think they are 47’s new models for the games because like you said, why bother even making these models in the first place then?

Wouldn’t be a question personally for me if I would be about getting something I want or adore

This might be unrelated but anyone know why Diana Briefings is muted in Blood Money Reprisal but her tutorial voice is still kept?

Codename 47 is my favorite hitman game. I’m very excited to see how the columbia missions look and the docks. for hitman 2 I’m most excited to see the party mansion level and for contracts I have never played so that should be a surprise either way

A panning camera like in modern games would be awesome, especially in H2:SA with those orchestral crescendos as you trudge through the snow

Welcome to the forum  you’ve come at an exciting time
