Do you think, they will add something like challenges or even Contracts Mode for more replayability?
I mean, I like all Hitman Games for what they are, but the first were more or less a one and done deal with more straight forward approaches to the missions and not the freedom of approach we are spoiled with today. Something like challenges could add at least some of that.
I very much doubt any of this WoA-like stuff such as instinct or contract creation will be included, and I think it’s wildly out of scope to anticipate any of it for a remaster (not a remake).
Maybe we would get something like in-game challenges at a push…
It’s going to be primarily a graphical upgrade, with higher fidelity sounds, some QoL improvements, and things like UI tweaks or control scheme changes. That’s it.
Looking at Saber Interactive’s previous remastering work - all of it does exactly this and not much more. Temper expectations.
ADD PLAYABLE MEI LING KISS REJECTION MINIGAME TO C47 TO INCREASE PLAYER INTERACTIVITY AND HAVE THE PLAYER BE AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT IN THE STEADFAST PROTECTION OF 47’S VOLCEL STATUS!
I doubt it’s gonna happen but I wish this remaster had 2 gameplay styles:
Classic - tries to be as 1 to 1 as possible to originals.
Unified - basically takes best elements of trilogy and puts them into all 3 games to be consistent.
For instance having C47 with saving, map and rank system from SA & Contracts (maybe even Hideout to collect weapons), while both C47 & SA can have Contracts detection system.
I feel like that would change the game though. H2SA is so bloody difficult compared to the other games and that’s part of its charm. The guards having differing levels of suspicion speed without the game telling you but it all making sense (like the mafia goons all knowing each other vs the Russian soldiers not all knowing every other guy).
Oh for me it is! Lots of it is nostalgia I’m sure, but I look back fondly on that game. Its frustratingly hard difficulty is something I liked (and still like) about it.
i heard the difficulty of h2 SA is actually influenced by the framerate. not sure if its framerates over 30 or over 60 that make the AI more attentive to your actions. either way it needs to be fixed in the remasters which im sure it will be. that kind of variation based on framerate is silly
I played on PS2 so I had no control over it, and it was harder than any other Hitman game, but it felt realistic and it was fun (hidden valley was not fun, but it was the glitches that ruined it, not the difficulty and the snipers who can make you out as a bad guy even when you’re covering your face with the same mask the guards wear). All other levels were super fun!
