There is not a better possible team this project could have been given to. If you guys havent played the TR remasters you HAVE TO. They even restored unfinished content for the infamously unfinished/buggy TR6 Angel of Darkness. They are top notch remasters in the vein that preserve the original gameplay and spirit of the original game. Hitman is SO lucky to have this team working on the remasters. If they are anything like TR remasters, you guys will be SO pleased with the final product. They will capture the stylization of the classic games perfectly while adapting them to current graphics. They did a really good job with Lara and classic TR.
They brought about a resurgence in love for the real classic Lara Croft and I hope the Hitman remasters will do the same for classic 47
The only negative part of this remake is that I’ll have to collect every damn weapon from Silent Assassin again. Whenever I replay it, I always try and collect the weapons so that the ones I use the most are at the top of the selection list. It never quite works out that way, though…
Will this finally be the playthrough where I actually do this? (Answer: No)
nightdive remasters are good too but the ones ive played (quake, the thing, turok) just maintain the original graphics without much enhancement, tomb raider remasters gave a whole optional visual overhaul to bring it closer to modern standards while still perfectly maintaining the original visual style
I find it a bit more hard for Contracts since you need all Silent Assasin ratings on all missions and The Bjarkhov Bomb can be very RNG dependant for that if bodies are discovered or not after blowing up the submarine.
IIRC you can time the explosion for when the perimeter guard is nearby the sub, so the blast kills him as well and he won’t find any bodies (and no one finds his). At least that’s how I generally went about it.
The trick is standing in the right position, between the Submarine and the little station. Trigger the explosion and make sure it kills both Soldiers near the sub dock. Skip the cutscene and start running towards the soldiers that come running and bump into everyone, they’ll stop running and handwave you away, forget the explosion and return to their stations.
Does not compute, I’m only able to skip a cutscene. If I die/fail and the save/checkpoint is tied with a cutscene. I can’t skip an intro either to tv-show, it’s unnatural and icky.
It’s been so long ago, but I believe that I just try and time it. I never exited a level without SA rating, other then when learning the game.
But it was more of a general statement, but if I failed. Then I’m allowed to skip, but I need the cutscenes for the story. Some people, replay games and skips cutscenes to get to the gameplay. That is offensive to me.
If I’m watching a Let’s Play on YouTube (strictly no commentary) and someone does this, I pull this face -_- and leave. Even if it’s cutscene I’ve seen a thousand times - this could be my first time experiencing Half Life, Metal Gear, Zelda etc, and you killed it for me
I genuinely believe if the remastered code name 47 has modern controls/changed AI it will finally get the love it deserves. Hell might even jump rankings for a lot of people!
Getting all zero SA on Tunnel Rat, waiting patiently and working out the timing to chloroform those RNG helicopter guards, is the only thing I’m not looking forward to.
I think there´s only one guard that walks to and from the sub and thus comes to look at the explosion if he´s not hit by it, but it´s been ages since I played it, so I very well might be misremembering… But I do believe that whenever I timed the explosion for it to kill him, I was ok in terms of undiscovered bodies.
I don’t think that bumping into the guards is even necessary. As long as 47 is in the right position, they will stop running by themselves. This is how I like to do it, no cutscene skipped:
