And what a time to bring it up! Your company’s reputation is being defamed by an accusation and your subconscious goes to winning an award?
Well let’s keep our fingers crossed it’s a massive hit like the Tomb Raider ones ![]()
I think I have to agree with you! ![]()
Man, i’m so jealous of all the people who get to play Codename 47 for the first time with this release ![]()
Happy for them too ![]()
“Wait, what, you want me to kill pigs now?”
“I’ve been running round this compound’s fence for about 10 IRL minutes here, why TF did they put the gate all the way over on the other side?”

They won’t be able to appreciate it. I was thinking about this, a theory what if I can erase my memories about Hitman and start all over.
It wouldn’t work. Not because I won’t like Hitman but the circumstances will be totally different than they were back then.
Pick me for example. Exactly in the year 2000 my parents were divorcing, my mom got into a new relationship and things were going so bad I never even thought about how it could go better if not worse. In the meanwhile I had my first computer and among my first videogames there was Codename 47. This game was my escape from a very very shitty reality. It comforted me when I needed the most.
Playing it now? It won’t have the same impact not even close and chances are I would get bored not eve halfway because the npc’s ai is so easy and the graphics are so outdated. And besides that I am living the best of my life and I’m not missing anything.
So you see, I believe it’s not entirely the game that got us hooked but a mix of timing and situations around it.
And besides today we have a lot more to choose and get games from. While back then it was just pure luck that my mom’s fiance bought the first gaming magazine he laid eyes on in the store and thought "What’s this? It has games inside? Ok, it will do
"
bro looks like 47 in his PFP LMAO
I agree with you. Many people don’t realise this. Remaster is not needed and is pointless.
I started to play cn47 in 2001, it was magical game, story, atmosphere, my own challenges and special statuses for missions achievements. cn47 is greatest and my favorite Hitman game. I stoped playing pc games (I only played pc games) in 2008, I am 40.
Younger generations, vast majority don’t care for cn 47, majority of them start to play from some newer Hitman game.
the remaster will have an option for modern controls for C47 so it should appeal more to the casual newcomers it also have a graphic toggle back to the OG graphics for veterans id say its worth it mainly for preservation as the old c47 has issues on newer systems like the bomb crash in columbia
You must be new around here
I’m weirdly fascinated by stories like this, because they explain something about a game that reviews and mechanics never really can. You can almost reverse-engineer a learned taste from them, shaped by timing, circumstances, whatever mess was happening in your life when the game happened to find you.
I had a similar thing with Hitman. I played it when I was a kid, which probably means I was exactly the kind of easily influenced little bastard who could accidentally learn life lessons from a game about professional murder. And honestly, I think it helped me. The whole idea of containing the damage, keeping control, thinking before acting, and being rewarded with something as absurdly simple as “Silent Assassin” stuck with me in a way that no modern shower of XP, loot and fireworks probably could.
That’s why I love these personal stories. Sometimes the game arrives at exactly the right moment and quietly becomes part of the machinery that makes you who you are.
As a matter of facts, Hitman gave me some pretty transferable skills: I now work as a contract killer for an international agency.
That is pretty damn cool!! ![]()
Thank you! Got it specially printed and framed it myself ![]()
I absolutely love it my friend! ![]()
