Just liked your post because I’m in the picture. (and also wondering what TDY stands for. The Dearly Years?)

I’m guessing it comes from Think Deadly.

Probably something super obvious and I’m just having a temporary black-out, but “TDY”?

Lucas got it right. Yeah, I thought that was the tagline for Hitman 2, but I forgot the whole “Make the world your weapon” tagline as well. Just trying to be cute.

Kindof surprised how this round is going so far. Sortof thought the Special Assignments would get dogpiled but it looks like some people want to be a bit more tactial. Curious if anyone is going to try and defend the sniper missions.

After this round, we’ll be doing Hitman 3. It will only have the 6 main missions from Hitman 3, and 4 of the missions will qualify, 2 will be eliminated. Would it be OK to increase the points from 20 to 30 or even 40 points to avoid early dogpiling since the round could go very quickly and be advantageous to the first posters?

How many points should each mission in the Hitman 3 heat have?
  • 20 points - The Usual Amount
  • 30 points - 50% more
  • 40 points - 100% more

Well, the problem is that alot of users on here do not own the Deluxe Edition, and haven’t played the Deluxe Escalations. That and we are specifically ranking missions, rather than Escalations, which there are a ton off. So no, for Hitman 3, it will just be the 6 main missions, and that is it.

I semi-tried

But see how well that went

I might try and write a more comprehensive argument in favour of sniper missions than “it good” tho. But it feels like Special Assignments and Sniper Missions don’t stand a chance, they’ll just die a slow and painful death, only prolonged by fools like me

As much as I want to -2 Mumbai everytime because it’s genuinely the only hitman WoA map I actively dislike. I feel like it’s a fruitless effort considering how many people truly adore it. So I’ll leave Mumbai alone for now, just gunning for Haven instead

I don’t mind the sniper missions, but at the same time, I never really ever go back to them. Think the 15 minute design choice doesn’t really work for me, think it needs to be designed to be far more pro-active for players to trigger events rather than waiting for specific things to happen. If IOI ever goes back to them, I kindof want them to rethink the whole venture, cause I do think there is a good gamemode here. One idea I think that could work would be perhaps an option to have multiple snipers on-site, and you can switch between them, with each sniper giving you a different angle of the map.

Kindof to reiterate, we have quarter-finals, semi-finals, and then THE final itself after this, plenty of opportunities for missions to get eliminated on the way there. I’ll be drawing up the quarter-final heats soon via RNG.

I also plan to add another game ontop of the final. Last time I did bingo cards, which to be honest I don’t think really worked, but I would like to try something else. Like say people PM before the final starts what they think the top 5 missions will be, and whoever’s closest winnest. I dunno, just an odd fun idea.

I think Himmelstein was a really good mission and the only sniper map I really liked.I loved the calm atmosphere, the architecture of the palace and the wedding setting. The easter eggs were also really nice and they were a bit eaiser to find than in the other maps and I also think the routes of the targets are simply better in this one than in the other sniper assassin missions. However…

What’s wrong with you?

Dawood Rangan says hi. :slightly_smiling_face:

Why?Sure, the viewcones are awful, but don’t you like its atmosphere?I also think its flat aspect works in a really good way and it makes infiltration interesting and unique.I shouldn’t forget to mention how fun it is to mess with the jet skis too.

Personally, I think all the Hitman 2 main missions are great. I mean alright maybe they aren’t all perfect, Mumbai and Santa Fortuna’s are so large that even when you know what you’re doing, it maybe takes a bit too long. And with Mumbai, I think it has the steepest learning curve, and I think you really need to learn how the Maelstrom works before you truly enjoy it. Whittleton Creek’s clues should probably be optional, or made like China’s data core and you just do it the first time and it just becomes optional otherwise.

I do genuinely think Hitman 2 has the strongest maps and main missions of the 3 WOA games, so I’d be happy to see all 8 main missions make it through.

I genuinely really like Santa Fortuna though. Ghost Mode really made me appreciate its design and the many ways it connects. And it has a lot of areas with distinct vibes and mechanics. Is it the best map ever? Nah, but I thought I’d show some love to a map that isn’t as widely appreciated  (it’s better than Mumbai and Haven by a long way too)
