I really hope I’m not the only one who is super super annoyed at having so many missions just so close to elimination but just not quite getting there.

In terms of route or personality?
I don’t think it is really fair to treat Whittleton Creek the way you do because of a cutscene which happened before the mission.It would be just like saying Run for your life is a bad level because the cutscene before the mission was one of the dumbest things in the whole franchise… 
Trust me,you are a bit too bitter about this homage to A new life and it feels like you are clearly overreacting.
It is not like IOI treated the other games differently.(Almost) All the other games except Absolution,which according to Diana,took place in an alternate reality received their own homage(s) too:
Codename 47:Chongqing
Silent Assassin:Sapienza(homage to the Sicily levels-I have some detailed explanations about this if anybody is interested),The Vector(St. Petersburg Stakeout)
Contracts:Dartmoor(Beldingford Manor),Berlin(The Meat King’s Party to some extent and Rendevouz in Rotterdam),Chongqing(Even though the easter eggs are straight from C47,the atmosphere feels like the one in the Hong Kong levels from Contracts,especially Slaying a dragon)
If we compare now what Blood Money fans received with what Contracts’ fans received I would say you are wrong because Contracts has got 3 homages while Blood Money only one.If you want to consider The Farewell a BM homage too(even though I have really strong reasons not too because the atmosphere in A vintage year and in this level are very different and because I actually cosider it an homage to the WOA triology as a whole-If you want more detailed thoughts tell me),then BM has got 2 homages while Contracts still 3 showing how Contracts is the superior game. 
So,my advice would be to judge the level on its own instead of focusing so much on the game it was inspired from.

Another Life is far from my favourite but I keep upvoting it to prevent a sudden elimination (very unlikely at this stage but still) by its haters. It’s not a great level by any means and many of its ideas feel unfinished but it remains a worthy part of Hitman 2.
Someone please finish off at least one of the levels where I provided the opportunity to.
