Hitman Roulette [Megathread]

What a call to action! Watching Roulette recently definitely tempted me to throw my hat in the ring. I think I may be an above-average tortoise and would probably only win if my opponent was overextending themselves. It would be fun either way. Unfortunately, I’ve got a bunch of limitations related to streaming. I’ve never done it, I’m on PS4, my tv is stupid and my internet connection is like a deadbeat dad. It comes and goes as it pleases.

I think streaming is quite easy on PS4, it’s all built in through the Share button functions afaik. Just have to setup a twitch account.

The connectivity might cause some issues however there are a couple participants who have less-than-stellar streams or occasionally drop out.

Worst case, maybe you lose a match because of no verifiable kill - but in a beginner’s thing like this I would say definitely give it a go regardless if you’re interested, as long as the game’s playable at least and still enjoyable on your end.

Thanks for the info and additional encouragement. I may give a go. Is there a deadline for signups?

@teddyfilmore

I have asked Meekah, the organiser, about that.

Because the exact start date is still undecided, there isn’t a fixed closing date for signups either. But as long as it is a couple of days before the event starts (which will likely be decided on soon) should be fine.

As tentative, subject to change, dates:
Signups expect to end between 25-31 Dec.
With the event likely running 3-9 Jan.

Roulette Arrivals will be taking place between the dates of January 3rd to January 9th. This means that the 3rd through the 8th will be time to practice with your coach, while the 9th will be a multi-hour tournament.

( Due to the large amount of participants it is possible that we may change the final tournament to take place over 2 days if we get further signups, but we will try to keep the event to a single day if participants cannot make Sunday the 10th. )

Signups will remain open until December 27th, Midnight CEST (one week prior to the event), so you have lots of time to decide if you’re on the fence about participating. Sign up form is attached to the message above this one.

@teddyfilmore because you wanted to know the deadline.

Roulette League

The new season of RL has started with a change to format. Matches have been adjusted from First-to-3 to First-to-5, meaning you now play at least 3 maps and will have up to 3 random maps, after each player’s pick.

Roulette Divisions

The League side-competition is also having a change to format moving to Play-All-4 where both players pick 2 maps with no bans which is sure to set it apart from regular League play and provide an exciting new setup. Check the full ruleset, outlining the new changes here.

Signups are open now until Dec 21, after which the competition will run Dec 22 until Jan 18.

Roulette Arrivals

Signups remain open for this beginner-only event until Dec 27.
Reminder that this is a Roulette rookie mini-tournament where for one week you will be coached by an experienced player on a selection of maps with the endgame of competing in a one-day double elimination bracket.

Signups and more info above.

Today is the Grand Final of RR18!

It will be played between 5-time Champion Scruffy and now-4-time Finalist Dein Nomos.

This is the fourth time that these 2 players meet in a Grand Final, twice more than any other rivals.

Despite having completely different styles of play, these competitors are very evenly matched and are without question two of the absolute best players of all time.

So if you want to see some top-tier Roulette, tune in to the RR Twitch stream at 16:00 GMT/17:00 CET.
