Seconded. This is the kind of communication we had in mind. And, as with why some ETs were released in the last weeks without announcement, when you can’t tell us everything about stuff, at least telling us that you can’t tell us about it goes a long way. This is exactly what we like to see and hear.

Super happy with these patch notes! The Ambrose change is chef’s kiss and the Drop pack I hope includes his playlist for use in Freelancer’s radio. I wonder how the outfits being added will work, my proposal is just to have them still be considered as their disguise in the original map for sake of Contracts mode but be considered a “Suit” in other maps. Maybe then there’d be a new category in the wardrobe called “Disguises”. Or we could add the ability to specify suits in contracts mode and thatd mean you could add anything, but it’s interesting to see IOI change their policies from “we need to make a new outfit instead of adding a disguise outright” to (maybe) just letting us unlock these suits at the end of the game’s life cycle. Idk if I like it or not, but it’s interesting and I like to see the game evolve
I hope we could be getting the Hitman 2016 and Hitman 2 2018 signature suits in a set of challenges somewhere down the line, as well as some more retro suits. I think IO are budgeting these maps to include unlocks that they dont need to make, which is fine, but if they want to do that the files include suits like the Solstice and Butcher suit which could have been given to us via challenges and be quite novel
I quite like the unlocks in the drop pack, I wonder if we can unlock some bangkok The Class recording equipment via this pack? Will definitely get it to support the game and also because i like the suit
My sore points is when it comes to bug fixes: I like that the two most major bugs introuduced last patch got squashed but the infinite saving glitch on PS5 has been there since launch as are I’m sure many other glitches im probably forgetting but the Sgail guards who aggro at the slightest thing are a biggun. SA also is inconsistent for certain types of knockouts on a target and Bangkok/Hokkaido have this bug where they can have broken lighting on contracts and freelancer mode. I think there needs to be an updated, better way of communicating what is being tracked. I think older posts used to do a “what we’re aware of” and “what we’re planning” under the patch notes for what to expect next patch
And a minor one which is some kind of inbetween between a bug and maybe just a QoL feature is on ETArcade the Fibre Wire doesnt count as a melee weapon
In terms of QoL features for another patch I also would like it if more items were added to that new “Melee” slot in the concealed weapon selection or if we could outright just take pistols in any slot and make all three slots item slots, thatd be boss. There’s also certain problems with small items not available in hidden stashes or to take on your person without a briefcase, there’s a lot of examples of this but an obscure one i wanna point out is i’d love to be able to take the sawnoffs in the pistol slot or the cane again. There’s also instances of briefcases no longer showing up in cutscenes like they used to in H2 but that’s super nightpicking
What I really hope is for future patches to include multiple ways to unlock something, what I mean by this is the challenge for playing a Miami ET still lets you get the Florida Fit, but there’s also a challenge in Dartmoor to get it if you dont have access to the ET. It’s probably a bug but I want you to keep it and do more of it because it’s great!
I guess the one last thing i’d like is if new Escalations and ET Arcade matches were to be made again. I really miss those and they helped take us from patch note to patch note. One thing I’m super psyched about is the Undying’s return, having him just outright part of the ET rollout again makes me happy and I hope to get some Celebrity rerun events where you can play all three sometime next year
Overall tho, im very happy with this Season of the Drop and think it’s an Improvement on the Disruptor Season, which had a really great ET but then added a bunch of problems
I think IO also has improved dastrically with communication as well which is good af
What’s funny is I’ve been doing the same thing, except with this streamer I watch who I’ve mentioned before called Lorerunner. Just today he finished up his review of Hitman 1 and I as part of chat helped him with bits like linking the Paris cutscenes for the story context, and I’ve been worried about him either playing Ambrose out of order or not playing it at all. He has the DLC so now this is a big seamless experience
I also am quite excited for how this changes the speedrunning of the trilogy, hell it also changes Season 2 runs. This and the Durian maybe shaking up the meta is what the game needed to remain fresh and interesting to watch. I hope Atrioc continues grinding for Trilogy runs with this new change to the format with Ambrose
I think the reason I like this Ambrose change so much is it makes playing everything way more convenient. Less menu navigation is better. Now if only the Season Content was added to the Side Missions tab and there was a Seperate Game Modes screen just for escalations, then you wouldnt have to use the Destinations tab if you didnt want to
It also is good because Whittleton had two cutscenes after it for some reason, maybe the only mission to do that, but now Ambrose will be between cutscene 1 and cutscene 2. Unfortunately I dont think Patient Zero’s ending cutscene or the cutscenes after New York and Haven will be added this patch
yea it’s a shame and as a sucker for details i find it weird, but i wonder if them adding normal!Grey into there might somehow mess up his animations or something. i know it sounds weird but keep in mind the Disruptor Fur Coat replaced everyone’s glasses with shades
There’s a similar bug in Ambrose involving character models where Noel Crest’s beard wont show up. I think a similar thing happens with tattoos not only on the tattooist disguise (47 is meant to steal his tattoo sleeves since his great tats are fake) but also on freelancer targets). Not to mention the Raven suit bug, which means 47 doesnt have any rain effects on his head when wearing that suit because it uses an older verison of the head model
Actually just to add me andendum to that there’s a bug that’s bothered me since Freelancer’s launch: the fact that if you choose a specific menu option (i believe it’s Freelancer → Challenges → clicking “Safehouse” under one of the challenges) you can make an endless loop of Freelancer menus and the menu is different from the base freelancer one since it doesnt have the “How to Play” video next to it. It’s weird, strange, scary stuff. Well not really but it shouldnt be there because it’s clearly not intended or useful
Edit: I wanted to say there’s some other QOL features ive just thought of:
-Car exit in hawkes bay main mission
-skippable clues after a first playthru in Whittleton
-fast forward starts in more locations than just dartmoor
-option to use the camera to immediately identify the maelstrom by taking a picture or to take a picture of a character and immediately get their image for use in the miami robot kill
-ability to manually save loadouts again or to save multiple loadouts depending on if playing main mission, bonus mission or contract
-loadout on Carpathian and ICA Training (or at least choosing a suit, which was promised sometime last year)
-ability to save in sarajevo six and holiday missions
-ability to kill the undying in level one with the krondstadt pens in our inventory
What bug was that I think if you tell combatglue he’ll get it fixed next patch. Dont want u to become like that guy on youtube who made videos for two years about the tranq glitch. Actually that reminds me there’s still a bug in Hokkadio Snow Festival contracts where it always plays Diana’s briefing and shows the “Hokkaido Snow Festival” mission text. I’ve never been a fan of that. I’m okay with having some contracts mode locations just forgo an opening cutscene because they forgot but that’s some sloppy toppy programming right there
Speaking of which did either those or the briefcase load or briefcase disappear bugs get fixed? i dont remember i dont recall anything like that at all
edit: this isnt necessarily a bug but in Freelancer you cant take pictures unless youre looking at a target, now the reason why this doesnt work all too well is you cant use the alien exit in berlin now unless a target happens to go in front of that mural. a minor thing but i’d like to be able to do so. another “kinda not really” bug i remember seeing is how sometimes target elimated UI overlaps the PIP when it shouldnt have priority like that
edit 2: there’s also a bug in carpathian where they havent calculated the right amount of challenges for the map and the counter goes offscreen, and a bug in freelancer where a sawnoff doesnt have rarity (i think because it doesnt count as a sawnoff for some reason… tyler the contract creator took advantage of this)
Very good patch notes overall. My favorite is the Ambrose one. There’s still some issues that need fixing but what they’ve done here is very nice.
The ET selections are good too, finally some variety. I did not expect The Undying to come back, but as someone questioned above, will He be available for everyone or only for people who missed him the first time? And speaking of The Undying, please make the level 1 complication of The Ouroborous optional, a mandatory kill condition is not fun and takes away replayability.
My only complain so far about this roadmap is the purple bat, I don’t see any use for it. A purple pistol (or any gun) would have been better imo.

I’d have expected an ICA Pistol because IOI loves having themed ICA pistols, but either way it’s just a reskinned item of what we already have, so I don’t think we gain/lose by recieving either… -
Ahh, Mills Reverie is returning, but alas no patch for the lighting in the level…
Just… decrease the contrast or something! You can barely see the beach or the enemy NPCs in black! And its been that way for a while! -
Ambrose finally being added to the Campaign tab is good!! By this point I expected it was never gonna happen.
Fixed a vast majority of GPU Hangs on PlayStation 4 and 5, so players should see a lot less crashes there.
I wonder if this means that the Landslide mission might finally be fixed on Playstation!
I forget if it’s been an issue on all platforms, but I’ve found that in the past year-and-a-half at the very least, whenever I’ve tried to play that mission on a PS console, it always crashes after some random amount of time, with no consistency with how/where it happens IMO…
- So I wonder what all the unlocks are. I will say, it’s been pretty cool to see IOI, or Combatglue, or whoever’s idea it was to adapt fan concepts for challenges in the last year – even if some of the rewards have been a little… odd.
I’m guessing the Micro Taser for the electric challenge, the Ghost Fan for the halloween one (wow, never expected that one!), and some sort of Surgeon disguise for the last?

Anyway, great releasing this early, good to have some patches that actually fix mechanics instead of just typos like last time and it looks like a pretty decent chunk of items we can unlock in this slower period of Hitman’s life cycle.
My hope is that we have some more major fixes that have been haunting the game for a few years now (I forget them off the top of my head, but smarter people probably have them on-hand)
Also, hopefully. Hoping against hope, here. Since I can’t imagine what the Major Feature might be in the end of this year’s patch because both The Drop and The Undying are being re-run already… I really hope that somehow we get some addition to Freelancer, like the Seasonal Cosmetics featured in the original trailer (aka @Lewisnic1’s sleep paralysis demon) or, as one final bombshell addition – mission support for alternate times of day in missions, or Bonus Missions from the games.
I guess we should start making Bingo cards for the end of the year…!

itd be awesome if IO took mods like this and the one that patched the Codename 47 suit to look more accurately like he did back in the first game and made them work in the vanilla game via a future patch. i dont think the makers would mind so long as you just added their usernames in the credits as a special thanks for contributing these fixes
Wouldn’t be the first time they’ve spelt an Arcade contract incorrectly. After all, the spelling error in The Oroborous Arcade is still around, and no sign of it being fixed in the pending patch based on the notes.

For the people saying that a purple bat is a strange choice, and they rather wouldve had a purple ica19, i fully agree.
That being said, there will likely be more drops in the future, so good chance the pistol will come at some point.
Hopefully the fuel canister is one of the item drops. Would make it possible to beat Flour Power again without having to drag people from the street to the reactor…

Elusive Target: The Drop featuring Dimitri Vegas
Expected to see the Drop ET coming during Fall. It follows the pattern of celebrET since the beginning of 2024.
If it the same as the previous ET (Undying and Disruptor), we can also expect a suit unlock by playing the regular ET Drop mission.
Additionally, we will be releasing a brand new DLC pack to all platforms, The Drop Pack
Also expected. In line with the previous ET packs. Nice to see an unlock a little bit different (vinyl) even though I predict it works like a distraction item that will break once it is launched.
Great to see additions to safehouse cosmetics.
October 31st – The Mills Reverie
Also expected. This mission has returned every Halloween. Despite nothing is written about that, can we expect an unlock this year?
Elusive Targets
A good selection. About the Undying, I do notice that this ET will be rerun for a whole month. But is it a rerun (unavailable to players who have already completed it earlier this year) or a “new” mission open to everybody?
Ambrose Island
Yeahhhhhhh!
The inclusion of Ambrose Island in the campaign timeline is a (Pardon my French) fu****g great addition to the game! Maybe I’m too enthusiastic, but I’ve always found it odd to see this mission excluded from the timeline.
Let’s see if now, the game proposes to play Ambrose after WC instead of Isle of Sgail.

At least, this mistake is now fixed. Too odd to see the Paris briefing video not lauched.
My thoughts about the patch note:
Mixed review: some great things, but on the other side, it’s weird that other bugs (that appear “easy” to fix - don’t know if it’s actually the case) are still under the radar (like the Hokkaido minimap).
Also, the very long silence about the Freelancer coin. Maybe it’s a deliberate choice from IOI, but a few words about it (even though it’s something like “no plan to relase it” or “don’t expect it”), just for the sake of clarification.
November 18th
The latest day is planned for November 18th. The roadmap should last for the entire Fall season. Thus, a Winter roadmap can be predicted.
My Conclusion:
A good roadmap overall. If predictions about unlocks turned to be true, it would be a good collection of unlocks these coming months (better than the last two - unicorn and bottle). The progressive inclusion of Freelancer items in the regular missions is, to my point of view, a good move! Let’s hope that water cannister and antique sedative syringe are the next unlocks scheduled in the future roadmap.
Other things that could be included in a near future: legacy escalations and theme musics of H1 and H2 (but I’m dreaming).
