Hitman WOA: The Sarajevo Six Campaign Thread

This is on PS5. I just purchased TS6, updated the game and launched it (and went into offline mode) and they were playable.

I’m using XBox and it’s having issues installing. It’s telling me it is, but nothing happens, then tells me it isn’t. And while there’s a space next to all the side mission campaigns now, I don’t know if that’s because space has been made for the S6, or if it’s solely the 7DS not showing since I’m offline.

I’ve purchased it on EPIC PC it says I’ve got it but server is down and it is NOT playable offline ATM

Oh hey, they made new pics for them. Nice.

Can someone check for me if the original kill challenges are added once the servers are back online? I’m away from my laptop today. :innocent:

They’re in the game data, so I would assume so.

And that’s it, the Director is history, exactly as I wanted him to be. And all I had to do was wait for him to come to me. Good start.

So I tried to play through this campaign as blind as I could with no restarts at all, and I somehow managed to SA Mercenary first try (or at least I believe I did, because server maintenance means no SA tracker for some stupid reason).

I walked around him for a bit in a way that eventually make his escorts lag behind him a bit then dropped a propane flask while he was heading in my direction, positioned myself between the barn and vehicle workshop and took a sneaky shot that took him out with a bang. There was no Crime Noticed or Compromised written on the HUD. I didn’t see other corpses and counted four enforcer spec ops when I was watching the cleanup, so I assume it went correctly.

Unfortunately I didn’t have as much luck with Extractor and Veteran and both ended up having some unwanted collateral.
Now I’m moving onto the Controller.

It sure feels uncanny playing an ET-like target and be able to see them marked on the map.

I heard in H1 you couldn’t save in these missions. Can you save in them now?

No. Which is bullshit because they’re available offline, unlike Holiday Hoarders and Hokkaido Snow Festival, which aren’t available offline and so can’t save. The S6 is available offline, but still can’t save. Bullshit.

Gary Lunn’s name is misspelled as ā€œGarry Lunnā€. It’s Pawel Frydel and Nina Torvik all over again!

You save your game? You, of all people? I didn’t except this. I don’t save manually in Hitman Games, it’s a habit i got from Codename 47 lol

Of course I save my game. How else would one learn how to complete the game perfectly without being able to erase mistakes from reality by taking it back to before errors were made and subsequently avoiding them?

All these went smooth up until Bangkok. Since he wears a yellow shirt, I just HAD to place a  by the edge of the pier where he stands. He did slip, but that voids SA. So I headshot him from up the other end of the pier. Retrying I used the emetic device (ā€œfart boxā€). This one should be easy enough to do again with different equipment.

Colorado… I sniped various things from the water tower. My first attempt already had a guard accident, and it wasn’t even one of his buddies. I’m getting too tired so I’ll try it later today or tomorrow.

All in all, I’m happy with how the Sarajevo Six turned out (though some additional improvements would’ve been nice). I like that they made new images for the targets which look a lot better than the originals imo. It’s weird that the missions aren’t visible on each destinations’ page when you’re offline when they were in 2016.

As for the missions themselves, they are basically just Elusive Targets but I do really enjoy the overarching story. It’s cool to get another set of missions that tie all the 2016 locations together, I wish we got something similar connecting 2’s locations or 3’s locations. I think what helps these missions stand out more is that they generally take advantage of areas that didn’t have other ETs in.

I had a lot more fun playing the Sarajevo Six this time than when I did them on 2016, thanks to the much improved gameplay and arsenal. This makes me want to see some or all of the 38 escalations that were cut out brought back in 3 even more. If they can bring back The Mercenary which has a form of the stalker AI, they can bring back The Mallory Misfortune!

Reported and I’m sure a permanent IP ban from @wincenworks will follow in due course.

EDIT - I’d actually like to see the rest of the OG Escalations brought back into the game as well. Contrary to what I think is the mainstream opinion, I liked some of the gimmicky Remote Mine and 5-level Escalations from H1 more than I do some of the more lauded Escalations from H2 and H3 (too much Suit Only and Insta-Fail If Spotted for my liking in later Escalations).

But not the Mallory Misfortune. NEVER the Mallory Misfortune! :raised_hand:

I support your idea of ā€œthe 38 cut Escalations coming back to WoAā€ for no other reason than I want The Susumu Obsession from Hokkaido to come back.

I enjoyed that one the most out of all of Hokkaido’s Escalations from Hitman (2016). I would love to replay it with the new equipment to try new/more complex strategies on WoA. The only way to play it is to keep Hitman (2016) installed, but I don’t want to reinstall the entire game just to replay one Escalation. It’s a waste of hard drive space.

I attempted The Mallory Misfortune way back when I still had the game installed to see what all the fuss was about and I remember hating it, but I think with the improvements in the game (being able to hide in bushes, and so on) and the vast arsenal of weapons and gear we have now in WoA, the frustration will at the bare minimum be reduced. My only complaint is I believe the Audio Distractions (like the Mixtape 47) were nerfed from 2016 and the nerf was never reverted or even slightly buffed (that I’m aware of), so that strategy would not be anywhere near as viable now. I’d be even more willing to give it a shot again on WoA if the Audio Distractions got even a slight buff to make them more viable again.

I also remember I played that BS one on Marrakesh (forgot the name, but I absolutely remember the landmines complication) to get the ā€œcomplete an Escalation on Marrakeshā€ achievement on Xbox. So as frustrating as it was, it was doable, as I did get the achievement using that Escalation. One second, rage, then the next I was laughing because of how much of a troll that mission was.
