hitman3.exe crash on launch – Exception code 0x80000003

Hitman: World of Assassination Technical Issues

Hello,

I’m unable to launch Hitman World of Assassination on PC. The game crashes immediately after pressing Play. No game process appears in Task Manager.

My specs:

  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3060 12GB

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X

  • RAM: 16GB

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit

Event Viewer error (Event ID 1000):

  • Faulting application: hitman3.exe version 3.260.1.0

  • Exception code: 0x80000003

  • Fault offset: 0x00000000011bd2f7

  • Report ID: 948096a2-fd25-4aa7-a860-46de822e5768

Everything I tried:

  • Verified game files multiple times

  • Deleted AppData folders (Roaming and Local IO Interactive\HITMAN3)

  • Deleted PipelineCache.bin, PipelineLibrary.bin, ShaderCache.bin

  • Installed all Visual C++ Redistributables and DirectX

  • Tried launch options: -skip_launcher, -dx11, -D3D11

  • Changed Display Mode (Exclusive Fullscreen, Fullscreen, Windowed Borderless)

  • Disabled all overlays (Steam, Discord, NVIDIA, Xbox Game Bar)

  • Added TdrDelay and TdrDdiDelay registry values

  • Installed DXVK (d3d11.dll + dxgi.dll) manually

  • Added UseVulkan=1 registry entry

  • Downgraded NVIDIA drivers to 572.83 using DDU clean uninstall

  • Full game reinstall with manual folder cleanup

The crash occurs at the exact same fault offset every time regardless of what I try. Please advise.

Did you try only using the command

-skip_launcher

or did you try a combination all at once?

Some people are reporting the game is running slow from the server, not sure if that’s related in some way.
