I haven’t entered the server yet 'cause I’m super invested on my own world, but I will make my house soon at least. Also is there any chance we swift to creation mode at any time?

Also if anyone can help me understand how the stuff works around? I joined but didn’t understand a lot of stuff. I’m somewhat of a dumb-Minecrafter, all I can do is build military-style villages and structures. I’m a decent builder but I also have zero experience in making lovely places like the ones build by @BlossomFox .

Yeah that makes sense, I’ll change that setting.
Maybe at some point in the future. I know the realm I host allows up to 3 worlds to be stored at once, so I think I can make the second world a creative one? I’m not too sure how that works. But currently, with the survival server still being new, I’d like to keep the focus on that for a while as players build up their bases.
Honestly, I lean on the wiki alot to learn about various materials and crafting recipes etc. You might want to see if there are any Youtube tutorials that can help you out.

Omg I also would like to jump on this “give me tips” train.
Lol I’ve asked Codename24 and Silvereyes already but they both say they’re either too uninformed or not good at MC to give much advice 
(which I think is selling themselves short but okay friends!) 
What should I do first? What’s a good way to explore and still ‘return to base’?
I only briefly played Minecraft on PS4 before realizing it was just a little too overwhelming and open-ended. But I want to participate in this server and enjoy trying out the game again!
I really like the Crafting Recipe Book feature, how it automatically adds recipes for things based on what you find/interact with. I jumped in some water after spawning in and boom it tells me how to build a boat.

Im getting a error saying: “Client outdated, realms has updated.”, despite me installing the update. Does anyone else have this issue?

No, I’m fine. I update via the ms store. Maybe try relaunching?
The main menu should show the new things as well.
