An update on Harpy. She’s grown so much. She’s at about half her full expected growth.
Oh yeah, this thread we have. Kind of forgotten about it.
I have a new pet back at home. Evidently it appeared few days after I headed back to UK.
The story is it was planted at the gates of our yard and all the neigbours were feeding it and eventually it ended up visiting our place, because most of the time the front door is open and we have another two furry inhabitants - the dog and the cat which I may have talked about before.
And while they have their feeding quarters right behind this front door, I guess it’s naturally it would attract some nosy noses. So after another while I was told it even refused to go, so my grandparents decided to adopt it on full time. I’ve been told that all the neighbours were tipped in for a vet visit and it was pronoused healthy and since then lives at ours.
Mom says witnessed the process and helped them pick a name for it which is Lyalya, something like this. It’s a little she-kitty from what I can say.
These days I got so far only photo of it, so here you are
Pets you say? All of these live in my house (and a chihuaha, fish, snake and bearded dragon that I couldn’t find the pictures of).
All of these your’s, and under the same roof? For once, I wish I was as weird as you. Awesome menagerie.
Well, technically the pond is outside, but yeah, all under the same roof! Thanks!
That’s not a house, that’s a zoo
is that a ball python?
Yes it is! She’s about a year old now.
The pigeons of the snake world
good for you for not getting some fancy colored morph because it looks pretty. So ball pythons are given up for adoption every week because they’re seen as ‘boring’, but balls are my favorite!
Yes, he scratched my eyeball last year, did this to my hand 6 months ago, and recently threw up on the carpets I had cleaned, but I still love my cat Jago.
I love Jago because he distracts you just enough that I get to beat you at Sonic CrossWorlds :3 glad he’s doing better btw
Is he named after the character from Killer Instinct?
I’m afraid not. He is named after Henry Gordon Jago from the classic Tom Baker Doctor Who story “The Talons of Weng-Chiang.” He made a good buddy duo with Dr George Litefoot, which is what I named his sister. They would get a few series of audio dramas based on them investigating the alien and paranormal in Victorian London.
Aw, too bad. With that fighter’s attitude, and KI’s Jago worshiping the Great Tiger Spirit, it seemed a perfect fit.
Did that Jago also lose a fight against an empty envelope?
Mmm, no, but he found out that the Great Tiger Spirit guiding him was actually a demon lord trying to use him to break into the physical realm, and that the woman who won the game’s tournament was his long lost half-sister, so there’s that. ![]()
Harpy’s 1st birthday is coming up, and to celebrate the occasion, we have ordered her some special treats from a place called Moo’s Barkery. We ordered treats for Peach from this place for years, and now is the first time we’ve ordered for Harpy. The lady who owns it and bakes the treats is very sweet, having followed Peach while she had a profile on TikTok, and included a card with the order honoring Peach and thanking us for the support of her business.
If any of you who are dog owners (I don’t know if she makes treats for any other pets besides dogs) would like to take a look and see if there’s anything you’d like to order, I’m sure she’d appreciate your business. The links to her website and her instagram are below.
Nice to see a bright spot on your otherwise bad September ![]()
