Reposted from reddit, I really enjoyed these two podcasts on Hitman 1 & 2.
The takes are a little hot but if you like longform (like pushing 2 hours kind of longform) content in a sort of discussion format I’d really recommend that. Just be warned that the ep on C47 is very negative and the host has an… interesting opinion on Hidden Valley.
The podcast Dev Game Club (which is a series created and hosted by two game developers who started off at LucasArts and have gone on to work out on the Fallout series and the recent Tomb Raider reboot, amongst others, and which looks at older video games and their legacy and influence on the industry today) did a 4 part series on Hitman 2: Silent Assassin as one of their very first runs of episodes. They also recorded a bonus 5th episode interviewing Janos Flösser who was one of the founders of IOI and who said 47 was created as a way of therapy for him to vicariously get violent revenge on the people who mistreated him IRL as he grew up in Soviet Eastern Europe.
