New Elusive Target: THE DISRUPTOR (Second Run: November 15 - December 8 2024)

Interesting stuff, thanks for letting us know :slightly_smiling_face:

Ohh wait, that’s a starting suit you can get just for starting the ET contract?
I assumed there’d be one, since it’s been offered with the last 2 CelebrETs, but I hadn’t seen it mentioned anywhere.

Well, hey! I guess it’s finally a Shirtless 47 Suit, not covered in bandages (Freelancer) or medical equipment (Untouchable)

How difficult is it gonna be putting a beard on him?

But with gloves, which makes it unusable for hanging-out-at-home/I-woke-up-like-this roleplay purposes. :pensive:

Not at all difficult, but there is the chance it clips through a part of his chin. To avoid this I could be using the beard version of head_caucasian_30s_02, though I’m not yet sure if I want that as the beard version usually look quite diffrent.

I opened the ET mission this morning, just to look at the main event, so to speak.

Three things stuck out to me:

  1. We have the announcer of the fight call McGregor’s character “The Disruptor” as he walks up!

Is this the first time (or one of the few) where the main target actually calls themselves by their special Target Title?
I always thought each target has their own “codename” that Diana/ICA catalogues them by, so it’s weird to hear it mentioned in the level itself.

  2. I started in the Chapel overlooking the ceremony area, and hey that’s where the fight is. Thing is, being escorted out to that area is kinda broken.

Maybe it’s the level getting confused with the Stage Area normally being reserved for the rich people crowd in normal Sgail, or someone put the wrong civilian zone trigger at the arena gate.

All I know is, this guy led me exactly to this location, blocked the door to the ring, and kept yelling at me to keep moving. But move where??
(I’ve seen this happen in some other level, forget which one, where a guard leads you to a “safe” area that does absolutely nothing.)

  1. The Purple Briefcase that is in celebration of this big new event references the Purple Streak Suit in its description.

I can’t recall any point where any other item references a different one. Is this the first case of an item calling out another one?

Hehehe, I keep using the Arcade to experiment, and I keep getting spotted during Level 2. It’s super annoying, but also funny.

It seems so. Moreover, the character’s actual name is never mentioned, even in the briefing and target description, which seems to be a deliberate choice.

I suppose he does have “McGregor” tattooed on his chest though…

Spot the target.

Started the mission from the default spot as usual and rushed to the arena to start setting up my trap, throwing a micro tazer from the “back area” of the upper courtyard to a near a gasoline barrel situated at the bottom of the stairs/close to the door that gives access to the effigy area (had to throw it at a bit of an angle to make sure it doesn’t stray too far off from the oil spill).
Then proceeded to go to the chapel via the crypt ladder to disable the cameras and to make my way to the chapel tower by vaulting to the helipad, climbing down to the grass area of the crypt and up to the top floor so I could use the muffins to walk onto the railing and gain access to the roof of the building.
From there I shot both the bell (to halt the match) and the barrel (to make the puddle), dropped to the back of the courtyard and waited for the target to walk into the bait so I could activate the tazer (since we don’t have a micro proximity one) and set him on fire for a NKO/SO/Accident Kill.
As for the exit I went to the safest one meaning the boat on the pier.

The reason I went with such a convoluted way of getting him is because I wanted to go with something a little more complex instead of just fighting him, dropping the speakers or the weights on him or emetics and I noticed that the barrel was on route and kinda hard to tamper with so I decided to use it.
Also originally I wasn’t going to use the muffins to get a vantage point to shoot at both of the items but after I got spotted from climbing all the way to the penthouse and back to the ground because the game wasn’t giving me the prompt to grapple on the east front at the end, it became quite clear that this was a sign telling me to make my run easier (there are probably easier ways to shoot both the bell and barrel SO but personally I’ve found this to be the safest route with fewer NPCs possible, at least it seems like it from my limited routing knowledge).
All in all this was a pretty well done ET (like the guest appearance ones tend to be); the character is a bit controversial and the final cutscene was a fun gag (it would be kinda dumb if he actually survived, like he’s not the undying he’s a MMA fighter) but it gave us shirtless 47 so I’d say it’s a good trade-off

There’s also the Arcade escalation but it seems to be similar to the undying one so I don’t think I’m gonna bother doing it anytime soon, especially since I can just buy it (ideally at a discounted price).

I am quite sure The Twin also was called like that in the mission. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The mission is surprisingly good. I did enjoy the Disruptor mission (both the regular ET and the ET Arcade) where I tried different ways.

For the ET Arcade:
1st level: I use the mission story. I lured the trainer with the fuse box. I subdued him, took his cloths, and next convinced the billionar to let 47 play the game. Once on the ring, I acknowledge it was easy to defeat the Disruptor, but it works. It reminded me some vibes of Absolution with “Night Fight” mission (Sanchez).

2nd level: (No disguise complication). I started with the waiter disguise. I sought for the Atlantide bootle for a long time before finding it. I finished the round with the ring, and went to the bar, waiting for the big guy. Poisoned his drink et voilà.

Conclusion: I find this new ET mission pretty good. Moreover, I’ve seen that there are other ways to get rid of the ET. Luckily, with the ETA, it’s a way to do again this mission. Will try the barbell strangling in the coming days.

Looking forward for the next season where we could expect the release of an ETA with the Drop! Last year, a single round is definitely a waste, when we look at all the possibilities!

It’s not. Tim Quinn is specifically mentioned to have resigned during the post-Untouchable cinematic, before ‘One year later’

But it’s been at least a year. He could have been reinstated. Also, Diana calls him CEO of his company, but she doesn’t specifically say he’s the current CEO, or the former. So that statement could just be a title that he now carries even if he’s not actively in that position anymore, like how former presidents are still referred to as president without the word former always being used to specify.

He probably still has controlling interests in the company even if he’s not still CEO, and the shareholders wanting to take him out may be wanting to make it so that he doesn’t have that control, and so that his idiotic ideas like this fighting thing don’t give the company a bad rep, so they’ll take the rest of the shares for themselves when he dies, assuming he has no relatives for them to pass to (I have no idea how company shares work after a person dies, so I’m just guessing here.)

It could also still take place after H3, but just be non-canon, like how The Collector and The Procurers definitely take place during H3, but cannot fit into the story in any possible way, and so are just what-if stories. So The Disruptor happens after H3 in the timeline, but doesn’t actually occur in the real story. The Disruptor’s bullshit revival at GAMA strongly supports this.

If it was just a namesake the whole time paradox would be resolved. And it would also explain why he looks different every time we see him, since it wouldn’t be the same person.

Quantum Leap standard policy: when you become CEO you must legally change your name to “Tim Quinn”. It’s honestly not that different from Elon Musk renaming everything remotely close to him to vaguely scientific stuff.

Is there a purpose to this ventilator in the chapel / training area?

The base and stand are highlighted in Instinct but there’s no prompt to turn it on or off and it does not electrify the nearby puddle when shot.

It is also present in the standard Isle of Sgail map btw.

It’s connected to a generator behind the pillar in your screenshot, which is what will electrify the puddle.

It’s there to justify the generator being there.

Makes sense. Guess it’s highlighted in Instinct just to draw your attention then.

Not the most original approach, but at least I found a use for sedative poison. Escape was messy as always, because I didn’t realize there was an escape point right on the ring, but on the other hand I didn’t leave my rare fancy coat on site. Also, shame I haven’t recorded that cutscene, didn’t know about it.

Now he doesn’t look like Galen Vholes! Impressive work!

I’m more of the belief they just screwed up and chose a name they hadn’t done much with. It doesn’t make sense for it to be within H2’s post-Sgail events (the games’ events take place pretty much one after the other and the cutscenes reinforce that pretty well).

Also, note Diana’s dialogue in her voicelines and briefing; They “Hired us”, not “Hired the ICA”. If you let Quinn die (which can take a while), she says she’ll have to personally deal with the client, something she never says otherwise.

This could actually be solved fairly easily, just redo the dialogue for Diana about him being the CEO, and just change it to him being the former CEO. Nothing else would need to change in the mission, as everything else would fall into place after that. Pretty quick fix =)
