New Elusive Target: THE DISRUPTOR (Second Run: November 15 - December 8 2024)

10 years of WOA does sound a cool way to close off this trilogy, but I guess we’ll know more towards the end of this year if we’ll even get a Year 5.

I think it was around Dec 2023 when IOI teased a brief update that there was more content coming for 2024, so I guess a similar thing will happen this year if we are to receive new content next year :slightly_smiling_face:

I discovered a streamer recently who just started with Hitman and it was completely overwhelming for her. The big maps, the creative freedom, the chance to just explore and do stuff and see, how the world responds. I mean, she wandered around Sapienza for about 2 hours, doing stuff here and there, without even getting close to the mansion, where the targets are. Even with Mission Storys she didn’t know what to do and how to do it. Was interesting to watch and showed, that Hitman may not be the game with the easiest handling at the start, but has a great learning curve, when you stay with it.

I guess, even a Mission Story that takes you by the hand as in the Disruptor isn’t a guaranteed win for newcomers. And since the idea seems to be to get new players into the game with Celebrity ETs, I guess, many of them failed even with the Mission Story. Therefore the low succes rate. Maybe. As you say, Sgail can be especially hard with all the guards. If shit hits the fan on the isle, in most cases you are just done.

I think it’s because people misunderstood the ring fight to be literally punching The Disruptor. So they hit the melee button too early and the game sees it as 47 punching a civilian. Then…all the guards in Sgail unload their ammo on you.

Or: they ran into that damn super enforcer in the castle that loses his shit and forces you into combat automatically if you even look at him wrong lol (unlikely)

I’ve poisoned his two guards with Sieker and lured him to edge of ramparts with flash phone. Have a nice flight, asshole.

Inspired by @cyan and his stats on the Battle Axe above. I thought I would give it a go…

Any special dialogue for taking out both targets, disguising as Tim, then going into the ring?

Is anyone else locked out of the disruptor event and cant play even though it says its going till today the 29th ?

Perhaps it ends at a particular time, rather than exactly at midnight? Doesn’t seem sensible, but that’s all I can think of outside of IOI just goofing and turning it off early.

ETs always end in the early afternoon European time. There’s a timer counting down the hours before it’s over, it’s always a good idea to check what time that will be in your time zone.

Strangely there is still a “play the ostentatious for free for a limited time” thing in the main menu despite that the only way to play it now is to buy the DLC :x

It took more time than expected but…

The Disruptor Elusive Target Completed :white_check_mark:

Now it’s time to put all of this altogether…

So the video is from the article posted a few weeks back, but I think a few people might have missed on it. The number of click on the link is visible, and the video is not listed after all, so…

A montage of how multiple IOI devs took out the disruptor during an internal competition.

They are:

  • Andzej Zmitrovic (Senior Technical Character Artist, IOI Copenhagen) - Veni Vidi Vici The Cowboy Headshot
  • Arash Golzad (QA Specialist, IOI Malmo)- Smooth Criminal Cover
  • August Hogsted (QA Student Assistent, IOI Copenhagen) - Stealth, Going medieval
  • Connor Curran (Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist, IOI Barcelona) - Connor vs Conor: The IOI Fighter
  • Joshua Flitcroft (Technical Accessibility Designer, IOI Malmo) - Quiet As a Clown
  • Saul Bookey (Junior Technical Designer, IOI Copenhagen) - Boom Goes the Ducknamite

And then the announced top 3:

  • 3rd Morten Elgaard (UI Designer, IOI Copenhagen) - Ipanema Burger Benchpress
  • 2nd Thomas Hollaender (UI Designer, IOI Copenhagen) - Training Day: The Cinematic Masterpiece
  • 1st Egor Shubin (Senior Build Engineer, IOI Copenhagen) - The 47 Seconds Muffin

Yay, some proper actual Hitman social media content from IOI, and not just more “we’re looking for staff, wouldn’t you love to work here?” job adverts.

This is genuinely great, shame it hasn’t been promoted more widely.

About time

After a lot of retries, technical issues, editing, and remixes, i’m finally able to show you my Silent Assassin playthrough of The Disruptor Elusive Target :white_check_mark:

A very bit late, but better than never i guess :stuck_out_tongue:

This was a pretty easy mission overall…

The major concern wasn’t the mission itself but the HUGE performance drops (fps, lag, eveything) within the fighting area :grimacing:

This added another layer of challenge to keep playing with the lag as it was harder to make movements and stuff. I wasn’t even sure it would be playable at first to be honest

Putting all of this altogether and keeping it smooth was made harder by the constant lag near the arena :warning:

I couldn’t be sure of the result until watching it after the playing, but somehow it worked and i felt like it was alright overall, despite many, many retries to achieve that…

Interesting scenes and dialogs overall, it was a fun mission to play with :+1:

It was nice to have a fighting setup and interactions within Sgail, made the whole thing appealing again!

It’s also good to see a mission story attached to an Elusive Target again, so we have a clear (and canon?) path to go with :+1:

I’ve decided to go with the fight inside the ring but there’s many other ways to get to the target, with additional dialogs and opportunities (like the one in the castle for example). I’ve also tried the helicopter exit strategy but it woudln’t bring a consistent SA so i chose the safest path.

It seems like IOI added a sort of automatic camera that triggers near the target, or randomly during the game which have led to some pretty ankward moments

I wasn’t satisfied with the forced exit within the cage, so i’ve mixed best of both worlds by keeping the animations without the restraint of completing the mission earlier.

The exit part is a major chunk imo and i wanted to keep it on the footage. I wish there was some kind of prompt that could be enabled manually instead of automatically making you exit the mission right away. Still a good way to go away easily lol

Also, that’s too bad that there’s a post cutscene implying that The Disruptor could’ve survived the hit.
It worked with The Undying, as it fits the character but it’s a hard pass on this one :warning:

Probably because of contractual reasons and stuff, but i decided to ignore it nonetheless and pretend he died like all other targets.

Regarding the sounds as usual i felt the ensemble a little bit too silent by moments, so i decided to remix the whole thing a lil bit here and there, to add another layer of sounds and music and it somehow improves the playthrough overall :+1:

I’ve managed to complete the Elusive Target on my main. However i wasn’t pleased with the result to thanks to the modding community and Peacock mod, i’ve been able to (re)make the best playthrough i could get in such short time. However that wasn’t easy, as i had to go through at least 50 retries to achieve such playthrough! It was a bit painful…

This is my take on The Disruptor Elusive Target on HITMAN: WoA. I hope you’ll enjoy

https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x94cqzy

This target and playthrough makes it the second (officially) completed Elusive Target on HITMAN: WoA (the Undying being appearing as “missing” until next reactivation). Looking forward to it :dart:

Update: It’s DONE :white_check_mark:

Cheers and cya later :sunglasses:

TIL the Disruptor is called “le Bouleversant” in French but the mission objective still calls him “the Disruptor”

That’s because i’ve used a Peacock version of the playthrough instead of the official one, and it seems like it is not translated accordingly but that’s a minor detail.

Anyway “Le Bouleversant” doesn’t fit the translation imo. I wish it would be changed at a later time:

I hope you liked the playthrough tho

Ok, I think I’ve figured out a possible explanation, in lieu of IOI explaining what that ending cutscene is all about.

The Disruptor is in fact dreaming the entire mission, as some on here have suggested, but unlike 47’s fever dreams in the 7DS escalations or Orson’s nightmare for the Halloween escalation, The Disruptor’s inciting event took place so recently that his dream hedges closer to reality. He was having the match with Quinn on the Isle of Sgail, and while there, he heard the talk among the patrons of the Washingtons supposedly being taken out by the legendary Agent 47. Then, he had his match with Quinn, and he got his ass handed to him. He had to be evacuated to GAMA for treatment, and in that time, because his defeat was such a hit to his ego, he dreamt up that it was not Quinn who beat him, but that 47 was contracted to kill him, filled in for Quinn, and that’s why he was beaten. Then he wakes up on the Spider table.

Until we get closure from IOI on how and why The Disruptor managed to achieve by accident what was only ever possible for Mark Faba and survive a serious attempt on his life by 47, this is what I will consider the explanation. It was all a dream of TD and 47 never really went on a mission to kill him. Mystery solved.
