I love both versions of TotT almost equally for different reasons. Gameplaywise, the original encapsulates the puzzle element at the missionās core way better through all the conversations and written intel available on the map, while the remake has more kill opportunities and offers a more balanced difficulty regarding the actual execution of the objectives. As in terms of atmosphere, I love both the lively and less serious one in C47 (particularly for the many golden lines of dialogue!) and the stark, haunted one in Contracts (I must also mention here the awesome feeling I get from hearing the SWAT team soundtrack playing right at the end!).
As a conclusion, the remake of TotT cannot replace the impact of the āreal oneā, but it doesnāt necessarily try to achieve that. It rather attempts to show a different version of the same core concept in another great level sharing the originalās name.

I completely agree. The C47 version is a lot better. TotT is the only mission where I genuinely find the remake worse (despite still being a fine mission on its own ofc).

Tbh I find them somewhat equal. Both versions have pros and cons and ultimately end up roughly on the same footing for me, so I actually like both. With TotT on the other hand, the Contracts version takes away too many of the things that I enjoy in the C47 one.
Me neither, but the original was already the weakest of the HK missions. The remake ends up not being much better or worse.
