Apparently we have The Rage coming up soon-ish, even though its not on the roadmap.
A new challenge has been added.
From a community wishlist.
- Unlock proposed by @kagemusha.
- Unlock requirement not being Mastery 20 by @NeroCrossX
In Hantu Port (The Pen and The Sword)
Quintuple Trouble
- Achieve 5 multi-kills (includes piercing) in one playthrough.
Completing it will unlock The Druzhina 34 ICA
Multi-kill can be caused by bodypirecing into multiple overlaying targets, using the shockwave ammo, or using accidents (explosion, electrocution, or other container fall)
A rare sight, it’s an addition to Sniper Mode.
The last one, Faster than Rocco, was beforehand the only added challenge of the mode, and dated back to October 2023, the franchise 25th anniversary.
Like last time, the new challenge does not add to the score multiplayer.
Don’t forget today also sees:
- The Infiltrator (Year 6)
- The Infiltrator Pack available to purchase for a month
Guess I should play these sniper maps sometime. I’ve only ever played the first one, never even opened the other two. The mode just comes across as boring, frustrating, and grindy. But it is a significant gap in my Hitman experience.
It’s not that bad. A lot of stories and opportunities to explore. But it does get a bit grindy if you want to get all mastery. As someone who enjoys sniper contracts I really appreciate this mode.
Relatable. I have 100% completion in everything and then there’s Sniper Assassin game mode.
Played it once and somehow completed 1 challenge and never opened these maps again.
Not only did I grind the three maps to maximum mastery in H2, I also grinded Knight and Stone (who had their own separate mastery tracks) to maximum mastery as well. If they bring co-op Sniper Assassin back with co-op mode - they better use that progress that is stored in my player profile from the H2 carryover! Do not want to do that again.
IMO the biggest problem about the sniper maps is the evacuation. Because of that there’s basically only one way to “perfect” each of them, which greatly reduces replayability. And when you add to that the only way to really gain XP is to do a perfect run, combined with the insane grind required to reach max level, it makes for a really tedious experience. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that whoever came up with the XP for that mode was also responsible for the ridiculous numbers on the Freelancer kill challenges during the CTT.
Make perfect runs award 10x the XP and maybe it will make the whole thing a little less awful.
From memory, the mastery XP requirements were reduced compared to the standalone Sniper Assassin that was the pre-order bonus for pre-ordering H2. I definitely remember the higher mastery levels requiring a stupid amount of XP that was somewhat lowered in H2.
I think if any specific mode needs the ability to save and load, it’s the Sniper mode. Some of the challenges are to take out every target via an accident. It’s extremely frustrating to get 19 of 20 done and then flub the last one, having to start all over again (which can take 15 minutes to do).
We’ve had complaints in other threads about the time it takes to do missions and the inability to save and load, but they were always in relation to Elusive Targets. The exact same arguments apply equally, if not more so, to the Sniper maps too.
The Himmelstein challenge where you had to kill seven targets during the waltz suuuuuuuucked. It took like ten minutes for the waltz to happen and you had to be so careful to not make the couple panic - otherwise your time to complete the seven kills instantly ended.
Definitely needed the ability to save.
Exactly. Not to get into a big discussion on Sniper maps in this thread (although I feel the challenge in Hantu Port opens that door), even a “one save” capability like in Master mode would be better than nothing. There are just too many opportunities for mistakes. I mean one missed bullet can potentially send the whole map into a frenzy and destroy the attempt. Absolutely needs the ability to Save and Load.
The gamemode would be a lot better if it allowed saving - some challenges require waiting 10-12 minutes inside the mission for you to be able to pull off those certain opportunities. Beyond that, I quite enjoyed the mode and it’s definitely a niche corner of WOA that some enjoy, some hate.
I remember vaguely calculating how long it would take me to reach max level based on an average perfect run time, and it ended up like “30 minutes every day for 2 months”. I’d rather play Animal Crossing if I have to play the same thing every day, thank you very much.
Yeah, haha, this is exactly why I don’t play the mode. One missed shot after sitting still for fifteen minutes, and everything’s ruined. Pass. I don’t have the patience for this mode, to “see how the script plays out” and then to screw something up.
It’s also annoying that if you cause an accident, it has to be your last one, or it can’t leave a body, because unlike in the normal mode, if NPCs see a dead body, even from an accident, they evacuate and it’s pandemonium. Stupid. I hope whoever’s idea that was lost a year’s salary paying for their kid’s braces.

Now if only we can also get the H2 Sniper Assassin Suit with gloves from Hantu Port as well.
Well, I unlocked the rifle. Gotta give it to IOI this season, they’ve provided a chance to unlock two items I’ve been wanting for years: the Tactical Turtleneck with gloves (still can’t believe I have it now, had practically accepted that it was something that would never be despite always hoping), and now the sniper rifle from Hantu Port. Just used them both in contracts mode together to try it out. Now if only IOI could swap it out with the ugly ass arctic version in Freelancer, we’d be cooking.
I’m a little sad that IO didn’t derp and just make the exact same Druzhina 34 ICA from Sniper Assassin an unlockable. Then we would’ve had the specials ammo.
When H3 launched and the Druzhina 34 ICA Arctic had the special ammos, the explosive ammo was fun to play with that they should give us something that has that ammo type to unlock. The wall piercing ammo is OP af and can stay away. But explosive ammo plz. ![]()
I couldn’t agree more, as long as it still had the body piercing ammo I personally could do without the wall piercing type, the shockwave ammo however could open the game up with new sniping strategies for the sandbox mode or at the very least make for some hilarious and chaotic runs, but as it stands now, it’s just a nice looking reskin of a rife with no real practical use.
