Season Of The Disruptor (2024) - Summer Roadmap

Couldn’t help but think of this while completing the challenge.

If it’s alcohol and makes a puddle, it should be ignitable. Or maybe set it out, then poison it for whoever comes along. Make it much more than a crystal ball reskin.

Well I have got this one on the go, but feel free to :slightly_smiling_face:

It’s not like Pinot is that useful either. I believe you can start herald meeting earlier by placing on table. Also, it looks better in inventory.

Hold up, hold up. Explain this part, please.

Reading through this thread, and I’m glad I’m not the only one who was…not happy…with the unlock.

I am convinced this was chosen at random. If they wanted a wine bottle as an unlock, why not make a newer vintage of the Grand Paladin?

Also, @BradleyPaine ,Tamara is trying to find this wine in the level, which can make it possible to poison her quicker as you don’t have to find said bottle (especially since you can start as a staff member). I don’t think this can be used to speed up the Herald meeting, that doesn’t make sense to me.

The thing is, there´s a bottle of Pinot in the closet basically right behind that starting position, and since you have to wait a bit for Tamara to even come over, it won´t really speed things up.

I´m really not sure what they were thinking with this one :man_shrugging: (unless it´s part one of a series of wine unlocks just because…)

I think I remember seeing it being placed on table by 47 in one playthrough. I might have been mistaken however.
Pinot Noir is can be found immediaetly when you start as waiter in storage room that is across you (there is a closet and a bin), so I genuienly doubt its usefullness.

Exactly. The only situation where poisoning Tamara with the wine as fast as possible, other than for a general speedrun, and so having it already in your inventory would be beneficial, would actually be… this very challenge that we completed to unlock the bottle in the first place.

This is what I don’t like about some of the unlocks we get in this game: they are locked behind challenges where having that item would be helpful in completing them to begin with, so once you have the item, you no longer need it! Yes, some people might want to use that item again in a similar playthrough, but you no longer need it for anything with substance. Why not lock them behind unrelated challenges, and then let the player realize: “wait a minute, that otherwise useless thing I unlocked a week ago could really help me beat this new challenge now, and get the other thing that unlocks that doesn’t relate to this challenge but might help with another one somewhere!”

The challenge, and the unlock, are from the “Challenge Ideas” topic.

I think it was chosen in spring, I would guess by @Combatglue, earnestly.
The challenge is interesting, and the unlock is a no cost to production legacy item.

Most of the challenge topic is a list of fun challenges if they were made into contracts, but terrible ideas for being used as a list of proposition for roadmap unlocks.

Because the unlocks are chosen semi randomly to pad the idea.

Hence everyone bad reaction to the unlock, here and on reddit.

That’s the Grand Paladin, you can place it on the table to star the meeting. You can’t do that with the other wines

You can if the Grand Paladin has been destroyed (at least it used to work, maybe its been patched out since I did it a few years ago). Never tested if it worked without destroying the GP first.

Edit: Just tested it. They fixed that at some point between when I reported it in March 2022 and the last patch.

I wish they would let us know what the prizes will be.

That Wine bottle should have been the Grand Paladin.

It also got me thinking. What future prizes are next

All other wine bottles?

A brick ?

I know the wishlist thread is not exactly IOI policy or the Hitman game plan, but you’d think that when it becomes clear that you gamer base is unimpressed with the items that have been made available of late to pad the content, you’d start looking at the things that are getting regularly asked for: weapons we know are there but unreleased, suits we know are there but unreleased, items available n one mode but not another being made available in that mode, etc.,. I truly know of no one who was asking for the wine bottle, or for yet another throwable emetic that can’t even be smuggled in a hidden stash, or another suitcase. We want things that not only look different, but can actually fit a setting.

Me. I’m the one who was asking for the durian, that’s why I suggested it as an unlock for the challenge.

Ok, so one request for it. I’m the one request for the tactical turtleneck with gloves, IOI, let’s make it happen.

I’ve also wanted the durian for a while. Unsure if I ever posted that but it’s possible.

But it’s weird, I would have even preferred the whiskey bottle or vodka bottle to the pinot noir.

Although my real preference is for the molotov in Freelancer.

There’s loads of weapons and items that are missing from Freelancer that I’d love to see added. The Trinity Weapons being one of them :smiling_face_with_tear:
