If I had to guess, and I’m just spitballing here, it’s probably to give the maximum amount of time for new or occasional players to realize that The Drop is out and act on it, become interested, explore the rest of the game, and then oh hey, her comes some more stuff.
Yeah, I’ve completed all of the featured contracts, going back to the beginning of the game.
That’s true, but once they do know about it, there’s not really anything else for them to do.
I really wish @Combatglue would speak to the team about maybe getting the DLC weapons added to the Freelancer wall as well, as that would at least allow for people to unlock the weapons for the wall and play around with them a bit. Considering there’s loads of wall-space, I’m surprised that they haven’t been integrated into that too as an extra incentive for people to buy them!
Well, if they’re new people, they get a month to explore the game.
I agree, but it’s going to fall on deal ears with some unfortunately
This is something I’ve talked about for a while on here. Hope it happens before content stops.
And if they do it, they’ll no excuse to not add the coin at the same time, since they’d be updating the supplier/reward crate item “lists”.
Make the Molotov available on all maps in Freelancer!
Then we might actually play around more with this nerfed item.
I tried the red light flash grenade from the The Drop Pack, the flash is not red for me when it blinds 47 and the detonation smoke does not seem red to me as well - maybe it’s my color blindness or some setting in the game? The red confetti is there but it vanishes rather quickly
Yeah I didn’t get any red flash either and the confetti is rather… unimpressive.
I kinda like the gag of the confetti being a wet fart (think The Big One) but yeah this flash grenade in practice doesn’t do much anything different.
Do the DLC weapons actually appear in reward crates? Because all the Ancestral / Ornamental weapons never do so it would be weird that the DLC weapons wouldn’t have the same behavior :x
And the Big One does have utility by being able to light up oil pools or interest points like the money pit in Sgail.
@Melusca, they do not. Neither DLC weapons (makeshift and street art), nor Mastery weapons (ancestral and ornemental) will be given through the reward crate. They must be bought at suppliers.
Always the last ones in prestige as a consequence for me.
@schatenjager, I’m currently closing on the freelancer prestiges, so I don’t mind the empty month. But it’s far from an universal experience.
I still hold hope that new items and suits will be created for the next roadmap, and maybe a future Year 5. And maybe new content.
I honestly don’t know how to read IOI intention for the future of the game right now.
But the last few months have made me loose trust in them.
I know that they are currently running on a budget business-wise, so I get it. Annual reports are public information. Then celebrETs and content creator as the only recognized audience remind me that there are red-headed stepchilds in the places that still receive care and money, and I’m one of them.
Also, personal opinion on the oil canister conversation, for the record: let the oil canister be.
Oh yeah yeah. It’s a versatile tool. I meant visually. The joke in its name is that observing it in action is quite underwhelming.
Visually underwhelming fits many of the items in WOA, being honest. LOL
Which is exactly how our guy 47 would want it.
At the risk of laboring the point regarding the Oil Canister: I’d like to say that I can politely agree to disagree with the people who believe it would be good/balanced as-is and are expressing their reasons for it, but the rude and unconstructive straw man attacks I’ve seen here are really disappointing.
I’m not some elitist hater of all things fun or interesting who just totally loves every unpopular change IOI has ever made, and I don’t see what drawing that box around people is supposed to accomplish. If anything, it prolongs what could have been a really short discussion by backing people into corners where they have to keep going, “No, I don’t think that. No, I didn’t say that,” over and over.
Yeah most of them are way too overpriced for what they are and I only buy them if I have nothing else to get. The exceptions are the two handguns (since that weapon type is exceedingly rare and should always be bought in priority to prevent empty vendor inventories) and the Ornamental SMG (since it’s one of the few epic+ SMGs).
When return Twitch Drop‘s purple streak suit, duck, and purple brief case?
We don’t know if they will for certain, but fairly likely. If they do, ‘at some point’ during the roadmap is all we have so far though.
