As other members already said: we have simple rules in this thread. Everyone can create a sonko contract and post it in this thread, but usually we first play any contract in this thread and post a video of the run, but also a screenshot with your final score and rating is enough, then you are eligible for claim a spot on the contact’s list. Nothing more.
BTW, I Can’t wait to play a sonko contract in the Author: I know there is already a featured contract out there, but it doesn’t appeal me.
Well I played @Sniff 's #92 and really enjoyed it but right toward the end something happened out of the game and I messed up the kill on the Krondstadt guard… oh well, I blame that. Might do it again at some point as it was great!
Also, I wouldn’t like to claim any number yet but which map would you like a SONKO on?
Icon (I want to try and make a contract there)
Hawkes Bay (No challenges since H2)
The Author (Has proper contract potential)
Patient Zero (I have some ideas for a challenging one)
As I said in a previous post, we love to have new people, but sharing our runs with each other is what it so much fun to be a part of it all. Also, playing other SONKO contracts give you a good idea of what makes good contracts.
It might not be possible for you to upload a video of your run, but if you could play a couple of contracts and either share a video or put a screenshot of your scorecard and talk about how your run went, that would be great.
If you go to the first post, you can see all the available contracts by creator and location. But I can assure you that mine are nothing special. There are some absolute gems in that list by other creators. I’d encourage you to pick out a few random ones. Once you’ve had a go, if you click on the contract number to expand the text you will see a link to “Jump to post”. You will usually find a few videos shortly after that post of some truly impressive runs.
Just a question: can we take the contract by @NinjaShuriken7000 as legitimate for #124? I know @linux_penguin was planning a new entry, and also Ninja continues to do as he wish, despite the many warning by the community here.
By now you must realize that you are angering some of the members of the SONKO community.
First, you violated the rules by just posting a new SONKO without having posted proof of a completed run. You were informed of the violation by @Euler13, yet you posted another without posting a completed run to establish your credentials. It may seem trivial to have to do it, but it sure feels like you have proven why the rule exists.
Second, the first SONKO you posted was riddled with problems which caused issues recreating the run. I pointed out the problems, and you assured us that you would let us know the locations of the targets going forward. However, you posted another SONKO and told us to contact you for locations… Dude, that’s not how it works. It’s not up to me to beg for target info. Once a contract is done, the target locations are known to everyone. It’s not a secret. Making a SONKO contract should not be harder than the contract itself.
Haha, yeah, Patient Zero is gonna be a very hardcore map for SONKO. My normal playstyle is SONKO (or as close to it as possible), so getting to Dexter’s room, SONKO style, for the recently featured contract “Dexter’s Denouement” was quite intense!
The strategy I used was to first use the center “tunnel” to get to the side of the rooms where Yuki Yamezaki and Jason Portman’s rooms are (in the main Hokkaido mission), similar to how you got to Risae Oosawa in your SONKO #123 run. When the coast is clear, get to Portman’s room and hack the door, to give you a place to hide. Throw the flash phone in front of the 2 guards & civilian in front of the hallway to the cable car.
Then, you have to be quick about this: Trigger the flash phone to blind those 3, run past them, create a bullet distraction to distract the guard outside your normal room from the main Hokkaido mission so he looks away from the door, hack the door so you can get inside, and hide in the closet because the flash phone should now be panicking those guards. Once that’s settled down, you can use the railing from the patio to shimmy your way over to Dexter’s room.
“Dexter’s Denouement” required me to use Dexter’s robes, so then I just had to wait for him, knock him out, take his clothes, and throw him over the railing. Then I could go about finishing the mission in his robes.
But, so far, I haven’t figured out a way to exit the mission afterward changing back into the suit. There’s not enough equipment slots for a second flash bang to get to the cable car. I could probably collect enough weapons to have the guards distracted taking them to the weapons crate. But at this point, I didn’t think it was worth the risk when I could just simply exit with Dexter’s robes.
