Itā€™s a bad spelling of schƤttenjager. Sometime in the 90s I was playing Gabriel Knight and I just liked the word. Using a U.S. keyboard (in the DOS days, mind you), I couldnā€™t manage the umlaud and I missed the second ā€œtā€ so I ended up with schatenjager and have been using it ever since. I still have the original email address I signed up for in 1993-4 using it. The word is supposed to mean shadow hunter.
