Way back when I was a kid in Boy Scouts we went to summer camp every year and one of the highlights was swimming a full mile. One of the counselors followed us around in a boat in case an emergency happened, but we did the full mile every year. One year I did it with a broken arm (sidestroke the whole way with that one arm in a cast poking up like a shark fin). Always loved swimming.
I have no idea how far I can go underwater but I can at least go the length of my pool, which is around 38 feet. I go snorkeling at a nearby lake during the summer here and it’s still a lot of fun.
It’s nice seeing people of the forum on here. I’m a bit too heavy too take photos of myself. I do want to share this concept art of an idea for a climate change centre near where I live, to be built on the currently empty site of the old coal power station which got demolished a few years ago. Inspired by The Eden Project in Cornwall. I do love a project with ambition behind it. I need to get some photos of the coastline I live on, I can’t imagine not living next to the ocean. Also here’s a gif of the power station’s demolition.
I sew as a hobby and both of us really like period clothing. We’ve done steampunk stuff, just straight up period stuff, and I have a whole wall full of those old-timey photos in my house of us too. Here’s another one we did for a convention we went to in Tucson a few years ago.
I was kinda thinking steam punk but was afraid of looking silly when you said… I don’t know call it “Alice in Wonderland” and then I have the Aha moment
The one in Istanbul. The best part was when the certified builder working there came to give some advice on us making race cars with the technic pieces, they were quite useful.
