Dave is the epitome of the “I used to be a liberal but they are to involved in identity politics now” type of Conservative pundit.
So… a conservative, who always was one at heart but who had convinced others, and perhaps himself as well, that he was liberal until the pressure of pretending he cared about moving the world forward became too much to keep up the charade. Got it.
