A bit OT but seriously America wtf is with carpets in drug stores???

Sometimes we Americans take a nap after we take some NyQuil. The way I see it American Pharmaceutical businesses are just making sure we’re comfy in their stores.

I don’t know that I have ever been in one with carpets, but I have been to 3 or 4 aeroports that have carpeted concourses, which is even ā€œmore stupiderā€ than carpets in drug stores, and all of them were in America :joy:

I’m more of a video store carpet with ominous blue curtain that leads to the adult section type of guy.

Y’all. I’m struggling to think of a retail environment here that has carpet. It’s a nightmare to keep clean, the stains show no matter what you do and it’s just generally kind of dated aesthetically.

Take one of our biggest chains, Shoppers Drug Mart. As you can clearly see under the old man’s car here, it’s got lovely, easy to clean greige tile the way god intended :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t worry about the store, guys. That guy definitely said sorry at least 7 times and that more than made up for the mess.

Good grief, I couldn’t imagine working with a carpet in retail. Think the only places in the UK that use carpet are stuff like old charity shops, and even then they all seem to be modernising now.

We have an health inspection on Wednesday at my shop, so the staff is currently stressed about cleaning every single detail, nook, cranny, of our shop. God knows how bad a carpeted area would be.

Mind you, we have a tiny customer area, and for that area, it uses this laminate floor with a wood pattern on it. This laminate floor is just the worst, it just seems to slowly get dirtier, dented, and just more damaged over time. It’s already been replaced once, and honestly it’ll probably need replaced again eventually, it just seems to take the damage rather than just keep the dirt on the surface level.

My god it would have to have been the late 60s or early 70s when this panel was inked. So much has changed for them in those ~50 years.

I don’t get it, sorry :see_no_evil: Neither the one with the Schwarzwild Radius nor the one with the Schnitzel. I’ve never heard anyone saying that in germany

But maybe it’s just that I’m dumb and I don’t get the joke haha! Seems more likely, maybe @MrOchoa can help

Same on my side tho. Often such memes contain words I never heard before, every german would be confused just by the word alone, no matter how its pronounced.

You’ve seen nothing, and so did the teacher.

Seeing the pic you were referring to made me think of some smaller pharmacies. They only sell medicine, OTC drugs, medical/first-aid items, maybe a few supplements and vitamins, and they’re in pretty small buildings. Like, maybe as large as a living room in a middle class family’s home. There might be 2 to 3 aisles of shelves and the main counter to pickup and pay for your purchases.

Edit: Er, well. Of all the ones I’ve been in they were carpeted. Though there might be some out there that aren’t. :man_shrugging:

There’s a small detail  Have you found it?

Some people just aren’t built to the world’s specifications. I should know because I have been there a few times.

Seriously where does it go?
