Unfortunately so 
I only got the highlights but it seems to stem from a reduction in meat consumption from US cattle. It’s likely a complicated issue precipitated by various dynamic factors such as trade tariffs, environmental change, availability of agricultural subsidies and state-sponsored insurance, personal preference, increased awareness of new foodstuffs and the competitive exports from the likes of Brazil and India.
The angle chosen appears to be more along the lines of the woke leftists are choking the patriotic meat industry because they hate America

Less protein is not really part of their demographic.
Edit: I read it as a war on protein, not ending it. Still dumb, because there wasn’t a “war” on protein.

Not sure where specifically this is from, but it sounds like part of a video from a guy called IAmCrusty.
He’s kind of a… how do I put this… british joker goblin person?? I’ve seen some of his Hitman VR videos and man, he just has some zany energy! His VR “acting” and editing are pretty damn good!

The guy i linked is called MerpTV. He’s jokes in all his vr vids. Not only hitman.
It is addressed in a couple of strips. But the great thing about Gator Days is a bunch of quality characters trying to get through life while often having very real issues.
