Holy crap, that’s amazing. Might be the best album I’ve heard all year.
ah, nice! you have - as ever - immaculate taste ![]()
god this gives me childhood memories.
honestly, i’ve hardly listened to much new that’s really taken me, especially on the guitar front. any recent ‘weird’ guitar stuff you can recommend? who’s pushing things forward rn?

Rina Sawayama - Hold The Girl
Laurel Hell - Mitski
Been quite a dry year for pop music, but I’m hoping to add Midnights by Taylor Swift when it releases

I was just listening to different AC/DC tunes trying to see if could figure out if it’s Bon Scott or Brian Johnson. I love AC/DC but they are really before my time. I knew back in black forward was Brian Johnson but I didn’t exactly know what songs were before and after which were after that album lol. Amazing how similar they sound. Then after I did some research I found live videos of Brian doing Highway to Hell it’s just crazy to see. He’s a little deeper but not much.
Bon Scott 1979 (skip to 0:50 for song start)

Brian Johnson 1989 (also skip to 0:50 for song)

Albums with Bon Scott: High Voltage, TNT (Australia Only), Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Let There Be Rock, Powerage and Highway to Hell
Albums with Brian Johnson: Back in Black, For Those About To Rock We Salute You, Flick Of The Switch, Fly On The Wall, Blow Up Your Video, The Razor’s Edge, Ball Breaker, Stiff Upper Lip, Black Ice, Rock or Bust and Power Up
Albums with Brian Johnson that are good: Back in Black, For Those About To Rock We Salute You, Blow Up Your Video
this is gold. really digging it.
Hell yeah, I love BÖC! You should listen to Don’t Fear the Reaper, Fire of Unknown Origin (the song and the album), Godzilla and I Love the Night. Those are probably my favourite songs of theirs. Honourable mention to Take Me Away.
Edit: I love their bridges/interludes and the mythos surrounding their lyrics. Their manager, Sandy Pearlman, wrote some strange poetry about an alien cult manipulating Earth’s history. None of the poetry is available to the public and Pearlman passed away a few years ago, but it’s really interesting to try and link the songs into a storyline, particularly with their album Imaginos, named after the poetry. Their songs, Burnin’ For You in particular, are also super fun to play.
