Saw the opening performance of Hadestown tonight. Really great musical of a sad greek tale, epic scale on stage, great actor and musical performances from the crew and orchestra.
Hermes and Orpheus have some great high-pitched voices and Hades’ actor could go REALLY DEEP. Dude was also like 6’5" I’m sure, he towered over everyone…
(Though this is the broadway recording)
Also got me into a Hades Game Orpheus mood. Dude also has a really good voice here!
I honestly don’t understand my taste with music. Besides being illiterate when it comes to music I’m very picky. I tend to only listen to instrumentals or orchestra’s because I find them very relaxing and a nice way to destress. But for some reason in particular I’ve really enjoyed this song recently.
The views expressed in this program 100% reflect the views of Adult Swim, Turner Broadcasting, and Time Warner. It’s misanthropic lecherous bigots all the way to the fucking chain. We could have made a more shocking show just by sticking a microphone on the underside of Mike Lazzo’s desk and playing back the recording. He’s a pig. Please enjoy World Peace.
Oh, Soul Hackers 2. It’s a good game with some good concepts and a good story, not to mention some great OST. Shame the game is just bloated with padding and is at least 50% longer than it needs to be. I really hope the team can make a sequel that fixes on the problems, has a bigger budget, and expands the ideas but considering it didn’t seem to sell too well either, I’m guessing it’s not too likely. Still, I constantly drift back to thinking about this game. I need to share more of the OST, there is some great shit, alot of fitting the moody cyberpunk aesthetic.
I should post more Sonic OST here. The Sonic CD OST is both excellent and ambitious, considering this was a Mega Drive era platformer. Sonic CD’s gimmick was time travel, meaning that its 7 Zones each had a past, present, bad future, and a good future, which meant every Zone’s track had 4 variants to reflect the time period. And Sonic CD, unlike nearly every other Sonic game, suffered the fate of being “Americanised”, where someone decided that the soundtrack needed to be done over for the American audience, even though Europe was fine with just the JP soundtrack. And honestly, the American OST is actually pretty good too, if not quite as god tier. Nowadays modern versions of CD have a soundtrack option that lets you choose which OST you’ll listen to on your playthrough.
This meme video is a pretty great showcase of CD’s OST. I also have to link to CD’s cutscenes, which were done by Toei Animation at the height of Dragon Ball Z. Fantastic stuff that is such a high bar for any Sonic animation in my opinion. Shame that if you bought this on the actual Sega CD, it would of been in a tiny resolution and like half the frame rate.
Been really digging Metric’s old album Pagans in Vegas recently
Also ooh! Carly Rae Jepsen has another companion album coming out next week! ‘The Loveliest Time’ to go with last year’s Loneliest Time.
Metric also has Formentera II coming in October!!
I guess a lot of artists’ covid-lockdown projects got really big with all that time, we getting lots of extra content from that…
I came across these while I had Spotify going on my phone.
And I guess I can’t call myself a Phil Collins fan since this was the first time I’ve ever heard this song. Well, maybe because I never heard it on the radio, and never had YouTube to recommend it. I’m so ashamed.
