This is the first year since I started going where I don’t think the lineup is worse than the previous year. It’s not much better, but it’s not worse. Maybe I’m just getting old bc that should make me happy but it doesn’t. It just makes me realise the days of incredible lineups have likely passed. Lolla used to sell out in an hour. I think last year there were still tickets available a few days before the weekend started.
Anyone else going to your local festival this year? Thoughts on the lineup?
That’s about how I feel going back at least the last few years. Mostly that’s bc we’re getting older . I always find a few really fun bands I didn’t know prior to the festival lineup coming out.
I would definitely switch Ihsahn and Animals As Leaders… but I get that tech-prog is super hot right now.
I’d also have Baroness headline that night but I admit I have a soft spot for them even though they never made anything as great as Red. Stone is pretty good though.
Ken Mode and Imperial Triumphant are solid. Red Fang is always consistently fun. Meshuggah’s greatness is a given. Conan, I never got into as much as I should given my love of doom.
