It is that time of the year full of harvest moons, paper ghosts and juvenile on-set diabetes and crap like that…

Just recently found this. Was playing for a bit during work.

Hadn’t given the album a try yet, but upon researching I learned they’re from the same country I am. So that’s neato I guess.

Genre: Dub Techno

I can hear it, it is as if a million retail workers suddenly cried out in terror and then silence.

I understood that reference.

I mean it is from one of the most popular films of all time so I would be a tad worried if you didn’t get it.

Started to listen to Rick Parfitt’s unreleased solo album, Recorded Delivery. A bit of a mixed bag, “Halloween” is the clear standout, which is why it made it onto his post-humourous album Over and Out. I am however fascined by this song, “999”. Like, I just adore how you can probably pinpoint the exact year this was recorded by just listening to it once.

Sounds like it would fit as a soundtrack song to an '80s action movie, has that power chord mixed with a bit of Roland J8 vibe. Blend of Toto, Robert Palmer and Stan Bush lol.

I’m going to guess 1987?

I believe it would be 1985 I think, maybe 1984? I believe it was recorded before Live Aid, which is what arguably saved Status Quo and brought them back together after they were the opening act.

Anyway, this seems rather appropriate:
