I’m unsure how to feel about this Elusive Target. One side of me, is the Eminem fan from the early 2000’s. The other part of me is, I had enough of famous elusive targets. I fear this will enter meme territory and that it will dilute the brand.
I wish to see more Elusive Targets, targets that doesn’t exist outside our real world. On the other hand it’s fun and easy to ignore. I don’t really see them as true “canon”. More fun quicky what if. IO struck gold with the undying, it was a fun reference to Sean Bean and his talent for dying in films. But it walked a line where it was believable inside the Hitman universe. It was more “subtle”, I one could even call it that.
I forgot play the Bruce Lee contacts, I’ll turn up for Eminem.
It wasn’t mentioned in the news, but will there be no rerelease of Elusive Target Galore in the fifth year either?
I really wanted to play the fifth-year ET that arrived before the Switch 2 release date…
Right after i officially did the Bruce Lee mission (which i liked but not loved) i saw the announcement about the new Celeb ET, watched the trailer and i just burst into laughter for several minutes. I almost wet myself. I find the idea behind it hilarious, i was so not expecting this to be the next ET.
Now i can say that it’s a bit underwhelming, i was hoping for a woman as a target. Except the infamous ET in Sgail, IOI is clearly targeting people born between the 80’s and 90’s. It’s definitely a cultural throwback. I’m curious but i’m not anticipating anything.
With the promise of two new single challenges still coming in this season, that makes Year 5 have the most single challenges added in a year:
Year 1 had 6
Year 2 had 8
Year 3 had 9
Year 4 had 11
Year 5 has 12
Of course, Year 3 has still had the most challenges added thanks to having the Codename 47 and Cloud Nine challenge packs as well as the single ones. Maybe in Year 6 we can finally get some more new packs (or the return of the missing legacy challenge pack challenges)
Having Eminem in the game is nice and all, but the blog post makes me a little worried that the mission is going to be too gimmicky and out of place, hopefully whatever they came up with doesn’t hurt replayability. Still, I’m exited to try this one out, It seems that Eminem himself played a big part in designing the mission so let’s see.
