It was given away for free a few years ago on GOG and I’m pretty sure it goes for 10$ (or less) on sales
It’s okay for what it is.

Absolution is a well made Game and is a lot of fun to play @TheChicken. Its just not was fans were asking for.

A very good friend of mine, who never played the other games got infected by my hype before the Game came out, he bought it and it’s one of his all-time favorite games now.

He bought HITMAN 1 + 2 too but was legit disappointed that they were so different from Absolution

I personally like Absolution for what it is.

Ohh, I’m well aware of the people’s hate for Absolution. I’ve just never really seen footage or gotten around to playing it myself.

One day I’ll pick up that HD BM/Abs collection when it gets back down to a good sale price.

I would claim Absolution is closer to C47 and H2SA in terms of game philosophy, then BM is to the originals. That said BM heavily influenced how we think of the series and what defines the series in terms of level design was written into stone. Absolution was a big departure from what we came to expect. I still prefer Absolution for all it’s faults over BM.

On the other hand we have to give Absolution the credit it deserves, the Providence Trilogy wouldn’t be what it is without the gameplay innovation from Absolution and Glacier 2. The new games owes as much to Absolution as it does to BM, it’s the natural evolution of these two titles. Absolution was a necessary step in the chain to get to where we are today.

Every word @Norseman said, except the part of Absolution ranking higher than BM, I’d rank it just below. Beyond that, word for word agreement.

Thank you also for calling it the Providence trilogy, because that’s what it is. World of Assassination is so laughably complex to say as a title, I can’t believe they kept it once it expanded beyond a single installment.
