Truth or Lie...?

I’ll guess three because why not.
If I take 7 hours to answer it’s because I’m busy.

Sorry to keep you guys waiting. Been on a long-distance flight.

Nope. I have never actually been anywhere in the Western Hemisphere  Planning to though.

Aaand, strike three. I’ve only ever had something with foreign girls. Not really popular with the ones back home  (it’s kinda mutual tbh)

The lie was no. 2. Despite having lived in Japan for quite a few years now, I am ashamed to say my Japanese is abysmal and I am nowhere near proficient. Really oughta try doing something about it…

I thought you were Japanese. Who’s gonna go next?

The deceiving appearances of location info (as you yourself should know :smirk:)

I can go one more time if nobody minds?

Find the lie again:

  1. I once got so drunk that I fell asleep on the late-night train home and woke up in a completely different prefecture.
  2. I witnessed a petite Japanese girl ram a watermelon (with her head).
  3. I had a bear follow me a good few dozen meters while riding a ski lift (is that what it’s called?) up a mountain in Hokkaido.
  4. I witnessed a man in his 80s beat the crap out of his much younger peers.

Is number four the lie?

Nope, four is true. I practice Filipino martial arts and saw the (essentially) grandmaster of the system I train, who is well into his 80s, beat the hell out of the younger instructors during demos. Sure, they weren’t exactly fighting back, but it’s not like he went easy on them and honestly they’d end up worse if they did. The man can basically be described as the FMA version of The End. He spends 90% of the day hibernating, but in the 10% he’s active, he’ll decimate you.

Another instructor, who’s closest in rank and in his 70s I think, is even more ferocious and less considerate.

Is the first one the lie?

Nope, also true. Happened to me several years back. Was out drinking with a friend, dozed off on the way home, and the line I lived on goes way beyond Tokyo. I woke up a few stops before the final one, smack down in the middle of Chiba prefecture. No train back at that point, and I didn’t have a local phone yet then, so I had no clue where exactly I am. Took the last train to the final stop, found myself an open pub, then ended up at a darts bar playing with some locals until the morning trains started running.

One of those experiences…

I’ll guess number 2
And if this is strike 3 again I will call the mods to stone you.
Yes I know.

Dang, sorry about that… But strike three it is.

I know 2 sounds like it might be made up, but it actually happened. One of the most bizarre but hilarious things I’ve ever seen. This group of college students were hanging out early evening near the station after an obvious few drinks. One was holding a watermelon, and this fairly tiny girl among them ran and rammed the thing with hear head, trying to break it I guess. Ended up utterly failing and dropping down on the pavement, which was followed by a moment of silence and than a bunch of cheers from her mates as she survived and started getting up.
Though to me the most perplexing thing was where the hell did they get that huge watermelon at that time of the year…

No. 3 was the lie. I did take a ski lift up a mountain in Hokkaido last year, and there are bears up there, but luckily none showed up. Needles to say I was quite nervous the whole time, especially due to all the warning signs and the fact that the lift was nowhere near high enough for a potential bear to not try to chew on my legs…

(Hey, at least I don’t make up weird stuff like Heisenberg)

Anyone can go next.

He’s the Sun
I don’t fell like putting out fires and making up lies, so whoever fells like to can go

Hope it’s okay to jump in even though I never got one correct.

:bullseye: Lie (or biggest lie  )

  1. I consider myself a “dog person”
  2. I was once robbed at gunpoint
  3. I was once a co-admin of a forum for another stealth game
  4. I can play a number of musical instruments

  1. You’re not a dog person, you’re a fish person. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’m actually more of a cat person than dog. But that’s the lie.

I did get robbed at gunpoint at my (still  ) current job back in Dec. 14th, 1999.

While I did have others complain about me in my early days (on the internet) I guess I eventually earned the trust of the main admin who requested some help in taking care of the forum they founded. I volunteered and was given admin rights/abilities for that forum. (Either that, or they didn’t have as much time to take care of it). What game that was for will have to remain in the shadows for now.

I can play guitar and have a better sense of music. I dabbled in playing the piano several years ago, playing chords with one hand and more notes with the other… But never really went beyond that and haven’t played for a long time. So, while I probably could play a number of instruments - playing them well might be another deal entirely.

But not anymore? I’m guessing the forum was shutdown due to lack of staff?

Find the truth, my old job edition.

  1. I use to work riding garbage trucks
  2. I use to be an Uber driver
  3. I use to be a traveling salesman
  4. I use to work at a local convenience store

Yeah, that and… I don’t recall exactly (the site was also going down or had to be paid for). I did help in moving a lot of stuff over to a WordPress site, and even that is, sadly, no longer around anymore. The forum software was changed too. The main one back in the day had a whole theme going on. Now, what remains of it, just looks like a generic forum with ads everywhere.

I’m gonna guess 2. The traveling salesman one is too obvious.

1, because it sounds different and kind of interesting.

@Heisenberg Nope, never been fond of the idea of driving strangers in my car, personally speaking.

@rattleshnake Actually that’s my oldest nephew’s current job, not mine. :slightly_smiling_face:
