TV Show Discussion Thread

Finally, some good fucking news…

Though unfortunately I saw this the other day…

Hope the creator of the freaking MATRIX gets to make this movie. She’s got pedigree and yet still big hollywood won’t finance it because “ummm Trans? Uh oh”

The issue with the current Hollywood Landscape is just producing cheaply for larger returns. There’s been an uptick in trends where projects are getting bloated budgets and or going beyond budget with the returns being minuscule which caused this pivot thanks to successful smaller films leading the charge

after the matrix resurrection I’m not surprised that finding funding is hard.

big studio pictures are nice for summer blockbusters, but it’s such a volatile and inconsistent space in the proverbial machine that real genuine experiences often get overshadowed by them.

that being said Tony released and people should check it out.

Any HP Universe fans here?
How you take in this series of which each season will be dedicated to one single book?
What’s your impressions on the idea itself, the cast, revealed teasers etc?
Will you watch it whatsoever or will “taste an see”?

I think it’s too soon, an attempt to cash in on the brand while there’s still interest, trying to keep good vibes toward it despite the author’s controversies. I think they’ve made to too much like the original film series (Hagrid is almost identical except with a different actor, Harry’s scar is on the side of his forehead again instead of in the middle, etc.). And the stated reason for doing all this is to make a more book-accurate version of the story for people to watch, but have already stated that they are making changes and/or adding in new things and removing others. The movies had an excuse for that, but you don’t need to change any part of the story when your stated purpose is to be more book-accurate, and you now have the amount of time needed to do that with a full season of television to work with.

All in all, I think it’s a mistake, a temu version of what the movies gave us, and I don’t think it’s going to last long. I am convinced it will be cancelled before it ever gets to the Goblet of Fire arc. Although I think John Lithgow is a fairly decent choice for Dumbledore.

For whatever reason, I remember Acci specifically calling out the Symbiote as a weak narrative element when I last talked about this show, so this post is dedicated to him :joy::yellow_heart:

Oh look they put the wheelchair in the poster

I’m hype, fun show! Januaryyyyy

There are a lot of good reasons as to why I hate the symbiotes and the most current reason is that for some fucking reason they are bonding Spider-Woman to Carnage. Because my girl Jess can’t exist independently of the Spider-suck. Oh nooooooooooo, they need to drag her down to his level in the fucking shit.

Oh yeah I called him a narrative wheelchair because he was more than a crutch. I am surprised they waited until the second season, that is a lot of restraint for a Spider-verse project.

Thanks for reminding me that NYCC is going on right now, I need to wait to see what they are going to be doing next. I hope for a Plastic Man series, it has been a while since we have had a Plastic Man run that wasn’t some fucking sad, hackneyed “prestige comic” stuff.

I just recently finished S1 of the AMC original “The Terror” and goodness was it awesome. I won’t spoil much, but it’s based off Dan Simmon’s novel, which is a fictional retelling of the lost arctic Franklin Expedition in 1845. I highly recommend to anybody who enjoys horror, thriller even drama. It is quite violent at some parts, but nothing too bad.

Dunno bout the other seasons, though.
