Actually like in The Vector. Or is it just one guy running there?

I haven’t loaded that map in a while but I think it might just be one guy running in that one. Still, point proven. Running is not “suspicious”.

If running is suspicious, act like you are jogging.

I think there are two: one running circles around the house, and one who runs back and forth in the backyard in between shadow-boxing.

Agree 100%. Running is exhausting. No one does that unless absolutely required. Whereas the “valet jog” is totally normal when people intend to show hustle without actually exerting energy.

“Yea no problem Mr Urben, let me go get your Mercedes.” \<\< this person isn’t actually running to get it. It’s like a half assed jog.

In the context of Hitman, “running” and “jogging” are pretty much the same thing though. I will say that one of the things about First Light that I really enjoyed was that they actually managed to make Bond walk at the same pace as whoever is escorting him. The number of times I’ve yelled “HURRY UP” to some character in Hitman who refuses to walk at the same pace 47 does is uncountable.

There is a lockdown/escape running that is more like jogging.

Then there is panicked running… That’s when an NPC books it! 🏃 🔥 🔥 🔥

I mean, I think so. 🤔

Because one example is Brother Akram being panicked and running down the stairs. You might think you’ll just wait for him to run by and garrote him, but he’s too fast!

Back in my day we didn’t let elements of physics like speed or collision stop us from fibre wiring a target.

Scallywag could be in a totally protect confessional booth, using a priest as a hostage - but we didn’t care - we’d just reach right through the walls and chloroform the priest then reach through again and fibrewire the target.

Made the cutscene and the “boss fight” that followed very weird but we didn’t care, we liked it anyway.

This might not be an unpopular opinion but to me the existence of Game Missions in Hitman like Apex Predator or Untouchables are proofs that Stealth Games can still be…well Stealth Games without having to adding Forced Action Sequence to add cinematic and epicness or grittyness or whatever reasons the devs use to justify to the Game. To me those action gameplay just ruin my immersion when trying to Ghost the game.

Saying this after having frustration playing the Forced Sequences in the first Splinter Cell Game and watching gameplays of Hitman Absolution and Splinter Cell Conviction.

</div>

I didn’t find it as jarring in Hitman, because often it was the final level and it was cool to have a climactic shootout like in a movie

But I’m with you on Splinter Cell, because it was a game so dedicated to stealth that when they forced you into a combat situation, you were unfamiliar with the shooting and cover mechanics. And the games weren’t designed with action in mind, especially the older ones, where the character’s only melee move was swinging his elbow out.

I honestly liked the “Filler” missions in the older games (Colombian Levels before SHTMLF, Hong Kong Levels) and was hoping they would come back. They gave Hitman games a feeling of like; “Your a professional Assassin and you need to do stuff to get to your target”, now it’s just “go kill your target”. The only exception is those shitty Japan and Afghanistan levels in SA.

I agree 100% with you, i loved that about the old games. Diana can tell me a hundred times how dangerous and extremely guarded Rico Delgado is - i just rode a fucking Bus to his doorstep, meanwhile Ochoas compound is so well hidden that i had to fight through the jungle, befriended the Uwa tribe and survived an encounter with a Jaguar to get there.

WoA isn’t exactly structured that way, but that basically still happened. How many militia targets had to be taken out before tracking down the Shadow Client? How many before reaching the Constant, or the Partners. And now, Freelancer is very much that, having to go through multiple maps and lesser targets before getting to who you’re really after.

I never liked the ~~obvious filler~~ set-up missions but what IO should do is rip-off the escape mission mechanic from _Payday 2_ where you have the chance to have to dodge a criminal manhunt or something. Just once or twice especially if you were loud and/or careless and it would be a good excuse to bring back a noteriety system.

I agree, and honestly it’s an unrealistic vision to have filler missions for WOA, I was just thinking like what if, like in C:47, there were different maps/locations based in one city, and 47 has to kill or do stuff in those areas to lure out the big bad.

Like imagine if, in Colorado, for example, you had to kill some sort of related militia leader, in a seperate mission and map, to lure all 4 of your targets over to the main map, the farm. Sounds dope for me.

Man you must not know how things work around here, never use _Absolution_ material to appeal to me, it simply will not work. Also “Terminus” isn’t even the best mission in _Absolution_, it isn’t even the best kill free mission in _Absolution_ either.

I dont know, dude. What other level in the hitman series lets you choke dudes out in a hippie weed farm whilst running from a cowboy arms dealer? Thats perfection right there.
