What Videogame(s) Are You Playing?

I am currently 30 hours into Baldurs Gate 3. I got to the end of Act I now and I already have ideas for other playthroughs.
I got the hang of the battles and how to get through them. I think I fit right into the default difficulty but I feel like I utilize way too few items and equipment-specific bonuses.

At the end of Act I one has to go through some deep cave. I am glad I got through that but apparently it only gets darker for now. Hopefully this will be followed by something nicer.

No Cranked No Glory Leaderboard Event BO6 Zombies

What became a “I’m just gonna login and finish my Battle Pass and Nuke Town Block Party Event Pass” became I must be Number 1 in this Leaderboard Event.

How it works is you’re pitted between 29 other people and you compete in the leaderboard. In this case it’s Essence gained during Teamed Cranked either Solo or Squad.

My main competition is with strk who is active at night when im asleep.

Fortunately I’m off til Tuesday and know a few tricks to net me points.

As of me waking up this morning I left at 5,758,980 points. With strk at 4,486,945 points.

That gives me a 1,272,035 lead where I plan on extending that lead by a few million through these tricks.

You do get a tangible reward for being #1 that being a champion emblem, but the goal is to make the gap wide enough that I’ll be able to secure first place placement for when leaderboards close on Thursday.

I know nothing about COD other than what’s known in pop culture about it. But man, is Nuketown still so popular they’re making limited time modes and maps on it?

COD is currently going through a weird re-evaluation phase given the reception of Battlefield.

Nuketown Lore

Nuke Town is no different to Shipment for Modern Warfare where in a sense it’s too iconic to not implement since they are used for Camo Grinds, and other adjacent things.

The difference with Nuke Town is how it evolved as the series progressed where it changed aesthetic and just a lore perspective aswell.

Nuketown being a Nuclear Test site was mass produced in a way where there are multiple sites in universe with an actual production facility called Area 99.

But the Nuketown Block Party is sorta a reaction to the negative feedback where they are focusing on being more true to Black Ops while previous event passes focused on Beavis and Butthead, TMNT, Squid Game. I could be missing one but for obvious reasons these didn’t gestate well with the community.

So it’s a step in the right direction for what the people want.

I’m a casual COD player. I have owned 3 or maybe 4 of the games and Nuke Town is by far my fav multiplayer map. It’s just small enough to keep the game in a state of cramped endless action. You’re pulling the trigger like 25% of the total time you’re in the map  but it’s also large enough that a solid player (or a decent player who’s having a really good game) can keep themselves alive for a while. It’s perfect!

Ended Yesterday with an AFK Strat.

strk was at 11 million when i logged in.

I’m at 17 million. Gonna attempt to widen the gap further through additional AFK farming so i can go off and do other things.

I´m happy I´m one of those weirdos who play CoD only for the singleplayer…(wasn´t weird in the mid 2000s though!)

The Crew Unlimited. I never thought I can return to play the first Crew game after Ubisoft shut it down. It’s a bit more janky being played on my laptop, when compared to PS4, but otherwise it’s just a blast from the past! Well, time to hit the road again! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Oh and check out their website as well:

The Skate early access game/demo whatever they want to call it.

As a huge skateboarding fan I’ve grown up with the Tony Hawk/Skate series. Skate 3 especially was incredible back in the day so it’s good to finally see a return to that series. A couple hours in and I’m really enjoying it.

Speaking of Demos, I downloaded a few weeks ago the Lumines Arise demo. It’s a block-sorting game from the same team and style as Tetris Effect. (But this one is their own original IP I think)

I booted it up the other day and… this. Just this screen.

Well screw you too I guess??

I don’t know if the full game is gonna be all live-servicey but this is a bad first impression, smh.
(The Demo WAS listed on the console with a “Beta” tag, usually seen on a lot of online multiplayer betas, but damn, I didn’t know this was limited-time…)

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

10 Years Later.

I have a very deep history with MGSV. To say I was excited would be an understatement. The lead up to MGSV was probably the most engaged I was for a game release in terms of information, leaks, and rumors.

This was also a time prior to me entering the workforce. So to pre-order the game I went ahead and traded in a lot of games more specifically Nintendo Games such as Windwaker HD, but I got the game.

Took me half a month to beat and did a lot of the post game. Rest assured returning to the game 10 years later I deleted my save to do a clean slate. Or enough of a clean slate cause some stuff sticks with you online.

My only wish was it had some type of visual uplift. It’s clear the game is an Xbox One game. The resolution is 1080, and the game could use better anti aliasing. Simply put it the game looks great but could use a Next Gen boost to get it similar to PC.

So you can delete your save file and still keep the online developements? Because that’s pretly what has kept me of starting fresh again for the pleasure of doing it since there’s no way I’m farming all those S++ soldiers over again or some research projects past Grade 8.

Any online developments persist. Same goes for online resources and mother bases.

Now I know what I’ll be doing after finishing all grade 9 developements, and taking a break for like a third of a year!

Well I am posting here again which can only mean it is time for an exciting round of “What videogame was Jack playing?” It was/is Borderlands 4 since my brother bought a copy, got busy with work and decided why not? It stops me from waiting for a sale even if it suckers me into paying full retain for DLC or the season pass.

Game is good probably the second best in terms of an overall experience, the transition to open-world sandbox isn’t completely seamless and the sandbox itself conforms to the mold set by pretty much every game the last five years but it is never overwhelming. I think the traversal needs work because it is severely behind in terms of liberal invisible wall use but the glider is cool and digistructing from anywhere is cool.

The story isn’t absolute ass either even if I did pick up on a few plot beats before the game even thinks about even foreshadowing. If you don’t think Arjay would come back then you need to play more games. But everything is treated with much more reverence and some of the more base forms of humour are used more judiciously than in 3.

All in all? Pretty good, it would be an 8 out of ten if Randy fixed all of the glitches in the game instead of calling us plebs and idiots.

So Death Stranding 2 had an easter egg mask from Ghost of Yotei, right?

Well it seems the shout-out goes both ways! Cool masks for everyone!

It’s Higgs’ skull mask! I haven’t unlocked it myself, but it’s cool to see it’s out there somewhere!

The Evil Within. I absolutely love this series but very doubtful we’ll ever get to see a third one day.

Played it the week it came out in 2014 and loved the characters and story. With it being Halloween season it felt the right time for another playthrough.
