A mix of a “What’s New…?” and “What Videogame(s) Are You Playing?”
I’m starting to put money on the side to migrate on PC next year.
Maybe the rumoured SteamMachine 2.0, or a SteamDeck.
I dusted off the steam account I created a while back.
Created a GOG account, and bought a few games there. (guess the ones)
So in the meantime, I created a new profile on Xbox.
I will play a few favourite games of mine on it. Do their achievements.
And in the end have it be neat and tidy.
A “best of” and other “milestones” of my almost 20 years of gaming.
A dozen or so games.
The kind of games I still think of fondly.
From the first game I followed before its release and made me buy my first console, to the ones that shaped my tastes, the ones linked to life moments, to the ones I recentered with after coming back, to the ones that are affirming it all by now.
As obvious as it is for someone on a gaming forum, I do make my taste and my journey through this medium of entertainment (and even art) some part of who I am.
And I want to celebrate it a bit.
It kinda feels like a farewell.
I don’t really play games much anymore. And I’m fine with it.
Hitman is a comfort game I can play in the evening to relax like others do a solitaire, sure.
Outside of this… I don’t care for any future releases. Or only by curiosity for a kind of entertainment I learned to appreciate some of the craft of.
I still expect to find one or two AA or indie a year to play, and add to the list, though.
