What's New....?

I bought some electronic contact cleaner spray… BW-100. I tried it on my controller’s potentiometers (analog sticks and triggers) but it’s still having issues. It might need to have them slightly opened and sprayed, or have them replaced (which would require soldering :expressionless: ). This will be Controller 1.

With another (identical) controller (Controller 2)-- the only issue it had were 2 of the D-Pad silicone contacts being broken. So I swapped the contacts from Controller 1 and put them in Controller 2.

Maybe now I can get back to playing Hitman.

I do have 2 other (working) X-Box controllers, but I hate using them due to the D-Pad and Right analog stick being switched. They’re okay for some games, but not Hitman since I’m too used to the PS Dualshock layout. I have to consciously think of what to do, instead of it being a reflex - like for going into the inventory.

About the BW-100 cleaner. One controller (XB) had an issue from the moment I got it from Amazon. The Left analog stick would jump all the way over to the right when pressing to the left. After I sprayed it - it was fixed! When it was delivered a few years ago - it came a day or 2 early, I didn’t expect to get it - so it sat on my porch the whole night… When it was way below freezing (we had that polar vortex :poop: going on). I always thought it was messed up due to being out when it was that cold. Whether it was or not - it’s working correctly now. :+1:

Weirdest thing at work today. I had to administer a test to a guy who looked almost exactly like this:

Subtract ten or twelve years or so, subtract the wrinkles, and these are practically the exact features of the guy I tested. And he was aware of it. His family had actually made fun of him for it, good-naturedly.

Is the universe trying to hit me with irony for a joke?

I don’t know who lives near Nuremberg, but I think @MrOchoa, @Urben, and @Mini are all in Germany at least. IWA is kinda like shot show in Europe. It’s going on 3/2 - 3/5 or wait… European dates 2/3 - 5/3 :joy:.

Cabot and Alchemy Custom are some of the prettiest 1911s ever built and they will have a booth over in hall 5. Unlike Shot Show IWA is open to the public and not just people who own retailers and other industry peeps. Might be fun.

I think we three live pretty much in Central Germany if I am not mistaken, Nuremberg is quite far into the South.

I asked another Hitman player on Discord if he is interested.

Double check that it’s open to public before you go. I know it’s not as restrictive at ShotShow but you guys also have very robust gun laws compared to here so maybe you need a licence to own a gun? I don’t know, but I saw videos from IWA last year on one of my YouTube channels that reviews guns and it looked WAY WAY better than shot show.

Edit: oh no!!! :see_no_evil:. It says limited to those in the trade. I swear it wasn’t that way last year. Sorry for getting you excited about noting. I’ll buy the first round if I ever bump into you.

I moved into my house today. Got to keep the cats inside a couple weeks for them to get adjusted. Currently got my bed in my living room as I wait for my bedroom to be painted and have the carpet put in. Most stuff in storage for another few weeks probably, internet 2-3 weeks away, so probably going to be relying on my Switch slot at the moment.

Exciting stuff though, feel like I’m in the last stretch of this move. I originally tried to sell the house right before COVID hit, so this has been a long time coming.

Congrats! I remember when you first started the process and then Covid just delayed it liek it did most everything else. Glad you’re in the new spot finally!

My perfume bottle has a faulty atomiser. It squirted me with a stream like it was a water pistol :gun:. For once the entire L car smells pretty good though.

Back from a 3 day school trip. It started thrilling until I saw someone nearly die last night. It’s been difficult to sleep as the image is well reserved in my head.

Might go in details in Lafayette later.

The building my office is in now has a “must hold handrail when using the stairs” rule.

I don’t work the company that owns the building so it was kinda comical when some guy who has nothing better to do tried to get me to follow this ridiculous rule, but I am confident he will be politer with whoever his next target is.

rules are meant to be broken, this is one of them.

So we got Crunchyroll for a month (or a few) so my sister can catch the latest one-episode of Attack on Titan, plus a couple other shows on her list she’s interested in.

I can also access the same account, so might as well use it while I can too. What are some good animes I should put on my watch list? (Please don’t recommend me 500-episode goliaths like Naruto or One Piece)
I’m already interested in Noragami, Keep your Hands off Eizouken!, & Kaguya-Sama Season 3/Dubs.

Mob psycho 100, mob psycho fucking 100. its an anime that absolutely emotionally destroyed in all 3 of its fantastically animated seasons.

id also recommend jojo’s but i don’t think crunchyroll has the blu-ray versions and its better to read it anyway.

and for movies i’d recommend classics like Akira and other ghibli flicks.

Cool, I’ll add it to the list then

Seen it and also plenty of ghibli films. We’re big ghibli fans in this house. Though I think Netflix has all/most of their catalog right now. I have yet to see Pom Poko, Up on Poppy Hill, Whisper of the Heart.

I recommend any of Satoshi Kon’s works (as does Guillermo Del Toro).

The ones you haven’t seen are all really good. There are two films that aren’t in the main Ghibli collection that I would also recommend: The Red Turtle (a collaboration with a Dutch animator, bit of a weird one but great nonetheless) and The Castle of Cagliostro (directed by Hayao Miyazaki before Ghibli was founded, based on a manga; lighthearted and goofy).
