What's New....?

Morbid, dude, and exactly the kind of thing I would joke about. Love it.

They will baby by appointment to avoid that day anyway. The kids growing up around them won’t know but then sometime in their teenage years (when people are their absolute worst versions of themselves anyway) they will learn in school and it’ll be off to the races.

I have no idea why but that reminds me of something that happened to me.

I basically dropped out of college in the 90s and around 2010 decided to go back and finish my degree. I was in a class called ā€œLeadershipā€ with a bunch of other students who were the correct age for undergraduate college. The professor decided that the best way to teach the concept of leadership was to focus on ā€œbadā€ leaders - like Jim Jones, Hitler, that guy who led the Stanford Prison Experiment, etc. - really charismatic people who had a lot of followers and were thus ā€œgreat leadersā€ while being bad people.

We got up to David Koresh and without thinking I said something like, ā€œyeah, I remember Waco - that whole ATF thing suckedā€ and the entire class of 18 or 19 year olds all stared at me completely stunned because I remembered that. To them it was just history and could have happened a hundred years prior. To me it was something that happened when I was around 20.

Someday 9/11 is going to be like that. An entire generation of ā€œkidsā€ will have no concept of what it really was or how it impacted the nation. It’ll just be one more thing they learn about in history class.

It’s already here mano. I fly for a living and we now have crew members who were not alive for 9/11. The unions do an excellent job of arranging remembrance trips to Shanksville, NY, and D.C. every year and we do get a lot of the young ā€œkidsā€ who go. The remembrance programs are still moving every year.

Can’t ever happen again.

I haven’t been active here so much recently, but I am reading in the Forum everyday  As for me, I had this amazing job interview and they even invited me for a hospitation! I had a wonderful day there and I really hope that I will get the job :crossed_fingers:

At the moment I have much therapy and I have the feeling that it helps me to get better. Papa was in hospital for a couple of days but still I was feeling fine. Now he is better and back home. He had birthday on thursday and yesterday I visitied my parents. I bought him a balloon, his very first helium balloon ever  he was so proud and allowed me to post this picture

Of course, there are still bad times and especially on working days my mood is kinda down because I still hate my current job :unamused: but I try to keep my head up and concentrate on the things that are good and I can have an influence on

Well everything is done and my grandmother has been laid to rest. Finally home, played on the PS5 a bit and am gearing up for half a week of work.

I’m trying to draw something, but it’s just not… turning out right. Even after like 3 different sketches of it… ugh.
Accurate, consistent proportions and perspectives is tough.

…Also I’m starting to feel pretty dang tired tonight which suuucks. I wanna do art brain
I’ll try to keep going at it tomorrow then after work …

I am so sorry for your loss @Accidental_Kills98 I didn’t knew  I hope playing can distract you a bit and I am sending you much strength. May your grandmother rest in peace now

Thanks, Mini. Yeah she is resting now and I gave her one of the pens she had gifted me so I could be close to her.

what would happen, if you were to not care about that and continued on with a supposed ā€œbadā€ sketch

Then I would feel like a fraud :sob:
/justkidding

I could, but I’m trying to make something I can use as a reference piece for the future, that I can look back on to verify how to draw it.
Point is, some part of it just seems very wonky so until I can lessen that, I gotta keep going at it.

you makin a reference sheet for a character/scene/fowl?

well if you really do keep struggling drawing this character consistently in a way that you can reference for later. May i suggest putting it down for a couple of days and try to get better at consistency and probably anatomy first. You don’t need to become a master. just try and see if you can become consistently good at drawing the figure you wanna draw before trying something difficult like a ref sheet. I believe that you have the ability to learn and do this well. And i hope you have the motivation to do it also.

Thanks man. That’s probably a good idea.
I’m kind of on the cusp of getting it right I think, it just needs to come together properly. I keep editing small bits in each attempt, so I’ll get there…

This is kinda what I’m trying to do, but I might just need more references and attempts at a general base that looks good before adapting it to the character too.

Put my flat on the market for the first time ever last week, and had a viewing over the weekend. Accepted an asking price offer from that person (a first time buyer: no chain!) today. Like a true professional: one shot, one target down.

Fuck man, I’m sorry to hear that. Are you going to be ok? You seem like a hard worker so hopefully you should be able to find another job quite quickly.

Abso-fucking-lutely, if it weren’t for all my workmates I would have quit already.

My job provider has already lined me up with a nice work-from-home gig.

And of course, considering who they could and could not afford to keep on didn’t include which executive’s pay to decrease first before letting anyone go and saddling those who remain with the responsibilities of those who are no longer there, I’m sure.
