Yesterday I had my first day at my new job and I feel so blessed :two_hearts: It was a wonderful and valuing experience. After two years in a job where I was treated like shit and people didn’t even say ā€œgood morningā€ to me, it was so nice to come to a working place where everyone was excited to get to know me and where my abilities are appreciated  I can’t wait to work again today

Congrats Mini… and Best Wishes for your new career, forget your past experience, enjoy your new job. Appreciating abilities is the key for any growing organisation and as an individual/mentor.

Good luck with your new job, I miss a lot of the people I used to work with. Must feel nice having a new job as well. I can’t even get unemployment let alone another job.

RIP Paul Reubens

All the outpouring of nostalgia I’ve seen for Pee-Wee Herman makes me feel A LOT better about watching Bluey or any other children’s-centric cartoon.

Clips I’ve seen of Pee-Wee’s old show are all really darn weird.
And, even back in the day, apparently there was an unusually large adult following in its early days (his first appearance on David Letterman’s show had Dave saying ā€œweirdly, a large fan-base of adults too!ā€)
My dad would have been in his 30s when the show was airing, and he watched it!

Bluey and other children’s TV can be juvenile, sure, but they sometimes have some great, poignant, deep writing.

Pee-Wee is on a whole other level of ā€œwhat am I watchingā€ lol
I won’t knock it though I’ve only seen very little of it

I’ve been subscribed to Humble Choice for a while now, and have a few codes from there that I haven’t used, because I already owned the game. So, if anyone is interested, I have a few Steam codes for free, PM if you want one. Obviously I can’t promise anything, if 2 people message me for the same game code it’ll be my decision on who gets it. I’m about to go to bed in a minute so will get back to people later on.

I have Steam codes for:

Death Stranding: Director’s Cut
Disco Elysium: The Final Cut (Currently on this month’s Humble Choice)
Doom Eternal
Just Cause 4: Complete Edition
Planet Zoo
Super Hot: Mind Control Delete

Rubens was a stand-up comic before his TV show, I always though Pee-wee’s Playhouse had such a large following because of that plus it is so insane it feels like a comedian’s bit than a kid’s show. Also he did have the film as well, it was also very popular.

Our dog ponyo has been acting a little strange the past few weeks.

In the middle of the night, she’d bark, just once, maybe twice, at the bottom of the stairs, then usually if no one responds she goes elsewhere tie lie down. Sometimes she’s barked many times (in intervals of a few minutes) and I’ve had to bring her upstairs with us.
Usually she barks so late because she needs to do some business outside, but we’ve tried to get her out multiple times now, and it’s not that. It’s probably her being lonely

She used to be able to climb the stairs on her own, but we think one day she slipped and it scared her off of doing it herself. Some year or two later, she’s back to climbing it on her own again… until she slips and it scares her off.

But this? Wanting to come up stairs so badly she’s barking up the stairs for us? That’s unusual.

I’ve also noticed that she’s become very scared of thunderstorms. Her legs start shaking and she often gets frozen, unable to move if there’s one going on.
(There is one going on right now, as she’s lying on my carpet in my bedroom, but as the storm rolled in half an hour ago, she got really restless and just sat close to my chair as I tried to console her…)

Aww, I hope it’s nothing bad or permanent. It’s so hard staying strong for our fur babies when we know something’s wrong but they can’t tell us what it is. Even actual human babies at least cry to give us an alert and it can only be so many things. With our furry ones, it could be nothing, or it could be dire peril, and we just can’t know for sure until something happens. That feeling is awful. Hang in there, and hopefully you’ll be able to help her with whatever the problem is.

An odd statement on the face of it, but given your style, probably the highest compliment you could pay to such a group. Intrigued to see how ā€œfucked upā€ we’re talking here.

A good chance not, but I’ll give anything a listen just once to see if I can get on with a rhythm. And the video, eh, if it was white stuff I might find it… questionable, but I see black goo vomit regularly on X-Files and a standard Hitman run with emetics. I’m sure I’ll be fine.

Is that thread specifically for political world news? I always thought that was the case and thus I posted the article in this one instead as a follow up to the one before. Furthermore I’ve posted plenty of articles in this thread before and nobody seemed to mind.

Envious. I haven’t been to a concert since I was a little kid, when I was solely a country fan and nothing else, but I would love to go see Metallica at least once before they hang it up.
