Dictatorships and Absolute Monarchies can work just fine if you have a wonderful leader. It’s when you don’t and you have no way to switch them out for another leader that it becomes a problem.
Even if the leader is good, there’s no freedom. The leader, regardless of how many good intentions he has, will do his actions based on his intentions, what he thinks is right.
It’s never good to be absolutist.

thank you, I had no idea. I want to take this opportunity to recommend what is, in my opinion, one of the best Alien games ever released. Aliens Dark Descent is a tactical RTS where you control a squad of marines moving through xeno-infested maps. It’s tense and well designed, if you’re an Alien fan you’ll love it.

I played a “kill everyone” contract on Landslide, and after completing it my game hasnt connected to the servers since last night. I checked on hitmanstat.us and the servers are down but i dont see anyone having the same issue as me. Anyone had this or is this scheduled server maintenance?

An annual big whoopty doo is going on in town. A few (relatively?) famous people, dignitaries… Whatever. There are numerous venues around town during the few days it lasts. That’s where the famous people visit with the locals, tell stories, sign autographs… I don’t know. I have no interest in attending any of them. Sure, there’s some cool (to meet/see) people, but I feel no compulsion to bug them, only help/serve them if/when they should ask for something. On another note, the prices for our hotel rooms have been the highest I believe they’ve ever been since this place started back in the late 90s (over $200 USD! 
). Anyway, besides the public venues where they visit with the plebs, here at the hotel is where they visit with each other. All in our dining/breakfast area. It’s very loud, but amazingly (and Thankfully!) there aren’t any complaints from guests that aren’t part of the group. Just one more night and things will be back to a normal, quiet/peaceful state.
Fun-fact about me typing this post. Every instance of “visit” I had the word “canoodle”. G0tDang I’m so glad I looked that up. lmao
