What's New....?

I am honoured that we need an entire course to explain our biosecurity laws.

Hey, I’m on 9th grade!

I think it’s bc there has been a whole slew of regulation changes where you live. Typically all the complicated stuff from every country gets bundled together. This time we ignored all the other countries and focused on a bunch of new stuff for your home.

I haven’t owned a Lego spaceman since somewhere prior to 1986…

I like how even he thinks there should never be anything romantic between 47 and Diana. In any other series there totally would be - and probably should be -, but in this one, it would just spoil the characters and their dynamic. Even making them these altruistic hero-types that WoA went for is pushing it, but that’s as far as it should be pushed, and the Man Himself here acknowledges it.

I went to an old school porch concert yesterday!

For a brief instant there, I thought that was Whittleton Creek.

Basically could be, which I guess was the point of that level in the first place. I’ve said for years it reminded me of where I grew up and that was a lot like where Yacob is…

This place is a bit more blue collar. Whittleton Creek was supposed to be a wealthy suburb of DC. Big homes with garages built into them bc nearly everyone works for a company that has huge Govt contracts.

This was in an old school north side neighbourhood of Chicago proper. More modest homes with detached garages facing the back alley.

Plus I imagine you can’t throw a porch concert at a place like Whittleton Creek lol. Here you just gotta make sure you invite the Alderman and have some spare food and drink in case the police or firemen show up to check on the blocked street :joy:

My grandfather lived on Greenview between Grace and Waveland for about 60 years in exactly that type of house. While I lived out in the suburbs (Glendale Heights, Schaumburg, Bolingbrook, and Naperville), grandpa’s block was always the site of some neighborhood ā€œthingā€ that was going on - especially during baseball season. Back in the 80s you could hear the ball games coming over the rooftops. He lived somewhere in the red circled area:

Dude that’s so funny. The concert was actually on Grace Street. :joy: small world.

Yesterday I won a journalism award. I was selected for second place in the ā€˜promotion of the territory’ category. It’s the second time I’ve won a journalism award. The first was in 2019, when I took first place in the ā€˜online journalism’ category. If I had come in first this time, I would have also won a thousand euros. But I’m happy.
