Great to see you back Heisenberg.

On Sunday night, the cat slashed at my face and cut my eyelid. Had discharge coming out my left eye for 36 hours. Just saw the opticians this afternoon. Turns out the cat cut the top of my eyeball, but thankfully it’s healing already, and there is no permanent damage. Taking eye drops for the next 2 weeks to help lubricate it.

Close call. And my stupid cat isn’t even remotely sorry.

So, had a few things happen while I was away. Got over Covid fully, as my sense of smell and taste returned within a few days. My dog never caught it, although she did get her regular pneumonia thing just the other day and my wife and I rushed her to the vet immediately to get a jump on it and she was recovering within hours, so that crisis was averted.

Learned that my grandma had started chemo for her cancer and that she also has a second cancer that needs a different chemo that can’t be started until the first one is finished, and it’s all really wearing her down. Knowing that, based on her age, her unhealthy lifestyle, and this latest twist, that she’s not likely to be long since she’ll probably say screw it to all these treatments after a while, I finally went home for the first time in nine years to see her. You wouldn’t think anything was wrong based on her attitude, so she’s taking it well, but I have a feeling she may give up soon because it’s all just too much, and with my grandpa gone, she doesn’t have much to hold onto, so it was worth the trip to see her for what will probably be the last time. But man, was I reminded why I don’t go back home anymore, as the rest of my family was pretty insufferable. Although my father may still have some hope as he finally realized the NRA is a scam and quit them. It was so weird to see my old home town again after so long. The last time I saw it, the Hokkaido map hadn’t even been released yet. So different, and yet, still so familiar. Part of me wanted to cry, part of me was glad that I’d made a life somewhere else, because to see that change in slow motion would have been depressing.

Also went to see Carter Anderson live at one of his shows. For those who aren’t familiar with his name, if you have TikTok or watch the shorts on YouTube, you may know him as the guy who puts his eyes and mouth over the images of fast food restaurants and makes them argue with each other and always shouts at Taco Bell: “That is not your slogan, bitch!” And he did it in the show my wife and I went to see. It was right at the end and he recorded the audience saying the phrase. He put it at the end of one of his skits. Here’s a link below to view it on YouTube.

And you can see me in the audience. Here’s a still with my head circled and an arrow pointing.

Today I learned that one of my favourite DJs was actually three DJs, but only one ever went on stage. I also learned the one who went on stage (the guy who if I saw him on the street I’d say “oh you’re so-and-so; I love your music,”) he’s not even in the group anymore.

Dash Berlin. Seen him (I mean them) 4 or maybe only 3 times. I had no idea it was a trio and Jeff was just also the only performer/face of the group.

Interesting.
I remember I once heard that it was a trio at some point, but Jeff always was (at least at that time, when I heard the story) a frontman.
Never knew they had such a dramatic history.
My thoughts were about Above&Beyond (trio, but only two of them are gigging, third always “behind the scenes”), Aly&Fila (duo, but same, only one of them plays giggs) and Solarstone.
But the last one is a solo artist for ages now

Don’t really know where to put this. And also have no idea what’s behind this marketing strategy. Any clues?

Opera GX web browser. It’s the “Gamers Browser”

It’s just a collaborative thing between Hitman and the browser.

Thanks. Never heard of it (and I use Opera for some things). Still don’t really get the “mission” here.

it’s just a giveaway for 3 copies of World of Assassination deluxe edition + the Bruce Lee dlc and 7 copies of the base game
