It’s just corporate greed. It could be the law or not, companies will still work this way and it’s ruining the world.

Yep, shareholder primacy seems more pseudo-legal excuse than an actual doctrine. Like people who look down on the poor and claim ‘survival of the fittest’ or bullying in the workplace as nature’s pecking order
Indeed, and another aspect I found in the research is that some boards themselves will promote shareholder primacy because profits are then metric by which they earn their bonuses, not by taking actions that secure the company’s long-term future.
I’m seeing a lot of boards seducing shareholders with the use of AI as a means to cut costs and increase profits. I vote against it every time, but when you’ve barely got two shares to rub together, your influence is zilch

A major issue with shareholder primacy is a lot of companies essentially define their purpose as creating shareholder value - so the argument is that has to be their focus. It’s why there’s been a trend in the past couple of decades of companies inventing new ideas like “for public good”, etc. This has, of course, cut both ways when you get absurd companies like WeWork and SpaceX giving their purpose as something ridiculous and inane.
In my experience the real problem is that most of these companies decide the best way to serve their stated purpose is quarterly or annual bonuses which, essentially, incentivise never thinking more than 12 months ahead.

My personal fav is when the bonuses for the guys on top are figured out by some version of earnings divided by outstanding shares… when the bonuses aren’t big enough they will simply have a stock buy back to fix the math 
I don’t believe that is allowed in many countries, but in mine it’s commonplace.

I finally decided to play deltarune. Holy crap. I just finished chapter 2. I stayed up way too long last night trying to beat Spamton NEO. I also found out from my friend that I missed Jevil. Currently using a second save file to get him and do the alternate route with Noelle. I currently only have 1&2 because I’m using the demo but I’ll definitely buy the full game soon.

Wow. Just… wow. (Also probably just a skill issue but I found the retro minigame final boss to be harder then a lot of the actual bosses lol)

Wouldn’t say it’s a skill issue they’re literally one of the only two bosses in the game that get “nerfed” after repeated deaths (in this case the only change is the TV Dinners only start spawning after death 1 and get more frequent till they cap at death 5) other one being the chapter 5 final boss
Gonna get my wisdom teeth taken out. Will have no wisdom left.

Had been through this thing recently myself.
And in some time might go to get rid of another one which is promised to be much harder to survive - it needs to be cut out of the gum or jaw because it’s half covered with this jaw bone or something, I don’t know how it’s called correctly

Did you pull them from your lower jaw? I had my top ones pulled a few weeks ago, and found the whole process surprisingly smooth, but I’ve heard the lower jaw are a real ordeal.

I have a terrible stomach ache. Maybe food poisoning. Usually I can tough out anything but I’m down for the count. It’s too bad too as we had tickets to go see John Mulaney at Wrigley tonight. My sister and 
are now going without me.
