Who Spit the Lyrics? (Forum Game)

It is indeed.

There’s a humming in the restless summer air
And we’re slipping off the course that we prepared
But in all chaos, there is calculation
Dropping glasses just to hear them break
You’ve been drinking like the world was gonna end (it didn’t)
Took a shiner from the fist of your best friend (go figure)
It’s clear that someone’s gotta go
We mean it, but I promise we’re not mean

And the cry goes out (ha)
They lose their minds for us, and how it plays out (ha)
Now we’re in the ring and we’re coming for blood

(Oh! Oh!)
You could try and take us (oh-oh)
But we’re the gladiators (Oh! Oh!)
Everyone a rager (oh-oh)
But secretly they’re saviors
Glory and gore go hand in hand
That’s why we’re making headlines (Oh! Oh!)
You could try and take us (oh-oh)
But victory’s contagious

Okay the last one was Lorde’s ‘Glory and Gore’.
Here’s another one, imma be disappointed if no one gets this:

She keeps Moet et Chandon
In her pretty cabinet
‘Let them eat cake’ she says
Just like Marie Antoinette
A built-in remedy
For Kruschev and Kennedy
At anytime an invitation
You can’t decline

I don’t think it was too hard, just that folks were a little preoccupied with E3. Next time don’t give up so soon, post hints first.

Caviar and cigarettes

Killer Queen. Easy

Kill or be killed
Kill or be killed
Kill or be killed
Kill or be killed
They know that we’re savages
Know that we’re cold
We come from the road
We never go broke or we’re digging for gold
We’re digging for gold
Not only did she wanna know
She wanted to roll
She’s getting down with the gang on the low
Down with the gang on the low
Don’t you know we don’t play-ay-ay-ay
Don’t you know we don’t play-ay-ay-ay
Don’t you know we don’t play-ay-ay-ay
Don’t you know we don’t play-ay-ay-ay

By the way, this is UK.

Bugzy Malone by chance?

Yah. 20 characters & the song is “We Don’t Play”.

Didn’t know the lyrics but I still had the idea it could be someone you posted in the music thread. :slightly_smiling_face: I would go next but I need to get some rest for tomorrow.

Going to assume Nazareth gave me the go ahead to post again, so

It’s kinda hard with you not around (yeah)
Know you in heaven smilin’ down
Watchin’ us while we pray for you
Every day we pray for you
Till the day we meet again
In my heart is where I’ll keep you friend
Memories give me the strength I need (uh-huh) to proceed
Strength I need to believe
My thoughts big I just can’t define (can’t define)
Wish I could turn back the hands of time
Us in the six, shop for new clothes and kicks
You and me taking flicks
Makin’ hits, stages they receive you on
Still can’t believe you’re gone (can’t believe you’re gone)
Give anything to hear half your breath (half your breath)
I know you still living your life, after death

[Tough drums]
Get the fuck off my dick and let me rip this shit!
[More tough drums]
I write raps
And when niggas bite, I clap
'Cos their shit sounds better now
You done let me down
Cause I thought you would be dope, but instead
Your shit’s dead;
You gets fed
To the alligators lurking in the moat
Peep what I wrote
You bit so hard, I though the shit was a quote.
But still I’m taxing, axing the competition
And any wack men, I stomp & dis 'em
And you can feel the pressure, plus
When I bust MCs’ll be
Trampling each other trying to exit
When I flex it
The way I wreck shit is not unexpected…
Niggas just lose when I choose
The best crews of MCs
And turn 'em into refugees
I slaughter
A lotta
MCs with all the
Styles I compiles, and cut 'em off like valves
Think to yourself I write the shit
So you can bite the shit
And I’ll know, despite you get props
[To da beat!]
Niggas get dropped

I think I heard this before but can’t pinpoint it just yet.

I’ll figure it out in due time though.

Nah, don’t know this one either. Like Nazareth said it sounds familiar, but can’t place it -gotta be '90s or very early '00s though?

Got it! Man, it’s really been a lifetime since I heard this guy. Now I kind of want to look up what else he’s been up to.

Night Blows, Stoves don’t work, Hoes at work
A warrior, so I wear 'em on my shirt
Wish I was free as Che was, I spend a day buzzed
Tripping on heights, wishing for Nikes in different flavors
The age of Kane and Big Daddy, shown by the caddies
Uncles named Larry, that really never grabbed me
My mother gave birth but she really never had me
Left to the hood to play daddy
Raised by niggaz named Butch through the bay bay
With waists so they weigh they status on the streets
License plates that say they, motto This is Chicago in the hay day
Similar to Good Times, I guess that I was Jay Jay
A skinny nigga, young girls with penny figures
So many niggaz, stacked upon each other
It’s the black upon each other that we love so much
Wonder how many of us, these drugs gonna touch
Used to gangbang, ain’t really thug that much
Rather have some thick broads then the dutch to clutch
Went to school in Baton Rouge for a couple of years
My college career got downed with a couple of beers
Came back home, now I gotta pay back loans
Same nigga, same block, same shit they own
Only thing different, quicker, they click that chrome
In my defense, yo I had to hit that zone
Man to man, I’m good working with my hands
My generation never understood working for the man
And, of being broke I ain’t a fan
Now I stand in the same spot, as my old man
My life I planned not to be on this corner
I still wanna see California
But this is my world

I would’ve posted another verse but my damn internet is starting to drag. :unamused:

Good spot! I love a lot of the Hiero stuff, and this is a solid debut with a classic opening gambit. In fact the whole album’s great, with some varied jazzy/banging production.

Casual’s quite an interesting character. I saw him at a little venue called the Thekla around 1997, and he was comatose backstage - then lit the place up as soon as he went on. :joy: Hiero released a fair few things independently in the early 2000s too, most of which are at least worth a spin.

Hint - This Rapper is from Chicago, like Kayne West.

Common - It’s Your World.

Cooler than most players claim to be
A nigga that’s from the A-Town see
The home of the Bankhead Bounce, Campbellton Road and other city streets
Enough of the verality, fallacy, butter we speak not fiction
Speaking of pulling yo’ girl looking at Jheri curls you bitches
Every time I rhyme for y’all, I’m looking to prove a point
Kicking a freestyle every now and then
But mostly off the joint
See I smoke good cause see it go good wit them flows, why
The nigga the B-I-G like Tony Rich nobody knows why
But me and my folks, cause y’all niggas jokes like the joker
I’m sick of these wack ass rappers like I’m tired of hoes in chokers

Ah, sounds like Outkast! Two dope boyz in a Cadillac I think. Classic.
