I admit that they don’t really have a personality, but I can forgive that because I really, really love the concept of undercover agents trying to find and kill you and the concept of killing 5 out of 10. 😁

I keep seeing this argument about the agents, and although it’s not as much as a regular target, they’re still individual people. So I disagree to an extent.
The intel page gives you information about each agent as you discover them. I’m not sure if this only works from the bus stop start but it gives info mostly about their personalities and skill as an agent.

If you watch them for long enough…
**Green** talks to a short-tempered bouncer sitting on a chair about the view, and how the bass may be bad for the bunnies.
**Davenport** tries to ask a bouncer if he’s seen 47 using vague information, but the bouncer “doesn’t work with cops”
**Rhodes** talks to the biker by the cameras, asking if he’s seen anyone, but “nobody’shitting him over the head right now”
**Monty** talks to a few people, including **Banner**
**Chamberlin** has a conversation with a bouncer in the security room, who wonders what 47 has done to get into this manhunt situation.
**Thames** has a go at some smokers who aren’t doing their jobs, and he also is forced to blend in after a crew member assumes he’s new.
Iirc **Swan** has a conversation with **Davenport** , but I don’t remember what they say.
**Tremaine** has a conversation with the roaming biker.
**Lowenthal** has a phone call with the company responsible for getting his food to the remote area, and I’m quite sure he also complains to the bikers in the lounge spot.

Aaaaand it’s not a “real” hotel IMO. No access to the beach, no pool or spa area, no fitness room. But half of the lower floor is closed and consists only an office and whatever that part is where the craftsman is 🤷‍♀️

Hokkaido and Haven felt more like hotels than Bangkok.

Indeed. While it´s not uncommon for a hotel to not have such facilities, one would expect them in what is supposed to be an exclusive 5-star resort (though the lack of a spa or fitness room could be justified by the fact that is perhaps a dated building). The Himmapan basically just has bars and a restaurant.

I can´t help but think that the northern section of the hotel compound was originally meant to contain something like that, perhaps a pool, but due to time constraints they just turned it into a mini-jungle (because that´s what you want from your luxurious über-expensive hotel, a view obscured by a thick treeline…). The beach is obviously not much a swimming spot, but still should be accessible for some sunbathing or shopping from vendors or so.

Now that you mention it… It is weird that the Sheikh doesn´t have a pool up there. Or a sauna. Or just about anything beyond a measly golf platform. Not to mention the fact that there are no other floors/rooms from the building accessible. Yeah, when you couple all that with the lack of a helicopter explosion kill, Dubai really is a disappointment… 😜

Speaking of sleeping, you did notice that there are only two bed(room)s in his private suite, right? So assuming all three Partners have been staying there alongside him… Yeah, I assume he does need a VR chip in his brain to create a scenario where he sleeps alone surrounded by his harem and doesn´t have to listen to Stuyvesant snoring or something worse 😬

I’m starting to appreciate Colorado more and more. I’ll admit that I was intimidated to play this mission when it came out 😛 This was the first environment that was completely hostile in the suit. All of the npcs can open fire on you except the targets and the hackers

A lot of players were upset that it’s a hostile map but it makes sense. The militia are a terrorist organization so it’s plausible that they would shoot any trespasser on sight. It does make it challenging but once you learn the patrol patterns, it feels so rewarding

There are a few things that I would improve about the mission though. I would add more verticality. I wish we could go all the way up the water tower like in the Vector mission. My biggest complaint is all the targets have boring routes except Sean Rose and Penelope Graves. Maybe Maya Parvati and two Militia Spec Ops could walk to the barracks and check up on the Point Man if he takes too long.

I wish they would do anything with Ezra Berg. His path is the most dull in the game. It felt more like I was playing a contract than killing an actual target. I also wish we could wear his disguise as he has a mask on.

Also, Sean Rose should be armed. It makes me scratch my head. Patrick Morgan in Sarajevo Six has a gun and can attack the player. (Not related but Patrick Morgan is one the hardest targets. I believe he and his guards are enforcers for every disguise. If he sees you, he and his guards will follow you.) It’s hard for me to fear Sean Rose if he cowers when you hold him at gunpoint.

Though in The Vector we’re up a radio tower 😉

I agree it would be great if targets had weapons too 😛

Whoops radio tower I meant 😅 I used to hate Colorado but now I’m a Colorado defender 😛 I like that this is the first mission that made me feel scared and uneasy. Almost every person is a threat. I love the orange/red hue of the mission that gives the map dangerous vibes.

I can understand why people would dislike this mission though. It’s not like a gorgeous or exotic location like Paris, Sapienza, Marrakesh, Bangkok, or Hokkkaido. It also does feel really tedious getting a different disguise for the barn, house, and explosive testing site.

Yeah, I really like that too, although sometimes I wish they went in different directions, keeping their original idea of the factory or the current farm location but at night 😌

Having just played through Colorado over the weekend, I can say that it’s not a “bad” level by any means. In a game where every level is actually quite good, one level has to be the worst of them and that probably ends up being Colorado just because of the reasons we’ve all talked about (whole map is hostile, too many targets, disguise restrictions, paths, etc.) but being the worst map doesn’t mean it’s a bad map.

But I seriously put Colorado above the following.

Paris
Sapienza
Bangkok
Hokkaido
Hawkes Bay
Whittleton Creek
Sgail
New York
Dartmoor
Chongqing
Carpathian

So what do I know, I have bad taste

I personally prefer Colorado over Chongqing. Colorado had more interesting targets and kill opportunities. But when it comes to aesthetics, I prefer Chongqing.

I want Bangkok to be my favorite level. I love hotel settings. But the Himmapan Hotel doesn’t feel like a luxury hotel to me. Where are the amenities? There’s no pool, spa, or gym. What can the guests at the hotel do other than eating and drinking? It’s just feels like a giant bar.

I was looking online and every 5 star hotel in Bangkok I saw had a pool. Adding a pool would be a major improvement to the level. It would look beautiful with the sunset. Imagine if they added Asian decor around the pool. It would look so beautiful. It’s so weird in Hitman 2016 Sapienza had a pool but not Bangkok.

Also, make the beach accessible. Please 🙏

I hated Colorado until recently. When I first played H2016 a few years ago, it was the level that almost made me uninstall the game (good thing I persevered eh?). 4 targets, entire map is essentially flat and hostile for suit, and basically all NPC’s are armed. It was a daunting prospect. I think also it is to do with the massive shift in contrast from maps like Sapienza & Marrakesh which are huge, bright, lively sprawling maps with a lot of open (non hostile) space. Doing SASO on Colorado was one of the most painful but rewarding things I have ever done in a game.

The more I play it now via Roulette, the more I appreciate how great of a map it is. All 4 targets have pretty interesting routes with multiple different kill opportunities, disguises are easy to obtain and most areas are easy enough to work around. At the time it felt like the map was quite tightly packed with NPC’s, but as I got better at the game and learned how to work around NPC’s and get around tighter areas, the map actually feels kind of empty to me now in some ways.

Easily in my top 5 maps now though.

I think Colorado is so easily segmented it’s easy to compartmentalise everything, and you’re just a fence or a ledge climb away.

Also it was worse in 2016 without the grass to hide in. I was still a fan then but it got a huge upgrade in H2 and even again in H3 with multiple exits.

The level is so much easier since they added foliage. I also love that the tornado shelter exit is no longer mandatory. I think you just need to pass the mission first and then all exits are available.

The more and more I play Colorado, the more I appreciate it. The only thing is that I wish more of the mission stories were balanced. Sean Rose got most of the mission stories
