The Winter Roadmap… yeah, a whole lot of nothing. Do note, I started playing a Hitman game in December last year with Hitman 2. It’s pretty obvious how that went, otherwise I wouldn’t be in the forums. Enjoyed the heck out of that game that I pre-ordered Hitman 3. Yeah, a bit late on that one, so the Holiday Hoarders and the Hokkaido Snow Festival was and still is available when I first played Hitman 2. Kinda happy to see both of them in Hitman 3, but it feels like I’m playing Hitman 2 again with this roadmap. Well with the Hitman 3 Elusive Targets being reactivated, and two Curated Contracts? Yeah, Hitman 2.5, or 2.9 if you play Kingdom Hearts 3. How does Curated Contracts work? Do they make the contracts or do they pick the community ones? Kinda bummed out because I did made a Christmas themed contract not long ago titled The Rudolph Rampage. It’s on the Fanmade Contracts thread if you wanna check it out. Overall, the roadmap is just MEH! I’m happy with the 2 pernament seasonal contents. Kinda happy to redo 3 Hitman 3 Elusive Targets… and that’s it.
Over one and a half months of waiting. (sigh) Guess I gotta do something during that time frame. Might make a few contracts in the meantime. By the sounds of Year 2, definitely looking forward to my birthday next year… it is on January 20. Merry Christmas everyone!
Funny how IOI take away missions and features and then later present them as “new updates”. I hope year 2 isn’t a mess like this. Still waiting for a DLC worth buying on this game.
I just remembered that I missed the Heartbreaker, so I at least have a good New Year’s present!
I wonder what’s going to happen about the other ETs and Legacy ETs we may have missed or failed. Will the Elusive Arcade let us correct that? Will it be a permanent record of our participation in when they were time-limited? Very interested how it evolves in January.
Don’t know if you’ve since booted up the game, but yes all the challenges carried across. There is a new sixth challenge added which now has the Santa 47 unlock attached to it - just “Complete Holiday Hoarders”. No longer do you need to complete the “Challenge Pack” to get it.

Worst roadmap? We’re getting two old favorites permanently added back in!
Imagine the disappointment of those who missed those ETs the first time and thought they’d have to wait at least a year before getting another chance at them, and they’re getting them all up front before everybody starts getting new stuff. I’m happy for those who missed out to be getting a chance to catch up with the rest of us before we all get new things.
Ah, it would be awesome if IOI could contract mode some of this holiday content like they did with garden show… Shouldn’t be that hard should it? Ideally I’d like all special maps to get the dartmoor garden show contract treatment…
From the sounds of this roadmap, it looks IOI is either committing as much time as possible to Year 2 or they’re taking an extended vacation (or both). They’re even delegating contract selection!
In all seriousness though, I’m not disappointed by this roadmap; it’s about what I expected. I was looking for permanent releases for Holiday Hoarders (which I haven’t played in years and am missing some challenges) and Hokkaido Snow Festival (which I have never played) and I got those. I was actually most interested to see if the weeks between now and Year 2 would bring anything and how they would work with a shortened January if/when they made a roadmap and I got my answer.
I was actually a little surprised to see some of the stuff that is here, like the contracts which I wasn’t expecting. I’m more surprised how many people just don’t seem to understand how the contracts are going to work…
They’re obviously saving the new for Year 2 (unless it’s really just an elaborate jape and it’s all recycled content with slightly different color schemes and lighting). If we see another Christmas or New Years themed thing, I’d expect it next December. We have a relaxing (unfortunately long) vacation until Year 2 shows up to (hopefully) blow us away. I can’t wait!
(PS, @Urben and @Frote7, I’ll give you all the money in my left pocket to pick one of my contracts)
What would be the point? It’s basically Showstopper but with some fake snow at the entrance and a few new items on the map which are mostly just Christmas-themed reskins of items already on the map or in our inventories.
Point would be to make seasonal themed contracts on the maps, I’d like it for all themed maps. It may -just- be a reskin, but eh… you can’t make a condition of other maps to wear santa disguise for instance…but I dunno if I would say the point … it would be -fun-. But, cheers for saying something I’d like is objectively wrong to desire.
I will not act like I am not upset that I have NO Elusive Target missions til next year (since I was thankfully successful in them all), but we have Year 2 to look forward to.
Gonna use this time to clean up challenges I have not completed and get ready for what is coming.
Eh…Was hoping for one more ET but given what is to come next year a quiet December isn’t a bad thing, plus need to unlock the seasonal stuff for my PS Hitman account so still stuff to enjoy.
Still for those who missed a couple ETs, is a good end of year catch-up.
Still. I don’t think they will roll out petabytes of fixes in one single update.
We didn’t get any for three or four months now. Game is not that bugless to miss three batches of updates
While Holiday Hoarders is more or less okay, Hokkaido Snow Festival is the whole disaster.
The target does not even spit a word! And it’s boring in its whole existence, I have an impression that it’s been made for 5 minutes because the deadline was just around the corner
Ok. But I personally did all those ETs. And I don’t need to imagine any of disappointments, because I really feel one. Because I get nothing new till mid-January.
So, those who missed some content are pleased, but those who already played that content are ditched
Neither the Shoulder Swap option or HH or TSF were featured as “new updates”; they even admitted shoulder swap was a highly requested option, and that HH and TSF were explictly advertised as reactivations, hell one of the first words was “the return of X”.
What mess are you referring to exactly? I feel like you’re saying that because you don’t like any of the content, not because it’s actually bad.
My personal opinion is one I share with @heisenberg .This is a good thing for a year-end sort of deal. If you played later in the year, then the ET’s being reactivated is a nice treat.
What do you mean nothing new? You get a new challenge to complete today that we’ve never had before - one that requires you to “Complete Holiday Hoarders”.
Of the 7 Hitman 3 ETs, I believe I’ve only played 1 of them, so this is a bit of a perfect time for me to get back into the game and do all the ETs I missed out on. So yeah, I’m kindof happy, although hoping the ET Arcade will also let everyone replay most of the ETs as well whenever they want.
