yes. the elite guards in Santa Fortuna with the blue shirts are who I always go for. they emphasize 47’s muscles just right so why not have a nice looking disguise lol
i think i misunderstood the initial poll then, i thought you were asking which group you’d like to be a part of. Which honestly none, ill serve crack before i serve military service for my country. and on the rescue part, theyll probably throw a gas grenade into my hostage room making me choke becoming a sad casualty of war these brave soldiers had no way of preventing
utterly based
IMO, any military should be to DEFEND their nation and borders from any hostile interests. If they’re invading a country that just happens to have a valuable commodity, be it oil, lithium, opium, etc. or perhaps its leader/s aren’t invested in a particular form of currency, then (again, IMO) they have absolutely no business being there. And I don’t want to put any blame on anyone that enlists… But I do kinda wonder why more of them don’t question the orders they’re given.
That’s the thing: they defend their nation by killing their enemies. When you get down the to bones of a military’s purpose, it is to kill. That’s why they have weapons, which exist only for that purpose. A military is not intended to disable or deflect, although they can engage in that, but that’s an afterthought. Their purpose is to kill, whether in defense or as an aggressor. And again, I don’t say that to be accusatory, I’m indifferent to militaries one way or the other; I neither condemn them or those who enlist, nor do I praise them. People killing other people for whatever reason is business as usual on this planet, always has been and I see no indication that it will ever change. Militaries are just one more example. But while everybody gets gung-ho about how cool these groups in the poll are, and let’s not kid ourselves, they are, I just prefer that the way they are presented to the public was more accurate; less Captain America, more Wolverine.
Uhhh you do realise they are basically Space Nazis right? And that they have some of the worst aim in all of science fiction?
Uhhh…still like their Uniforms.
Because the Main Characters have the thickest plotarmor in all of science fiction
You mean the uniforms inspired by Nazi shock troopers?
“say what you will about space fascists, they sure know how to dress!”
isn’t a modern military’s primary defensive role one of deterrence? they’re trained to be able to kill, undoubtedly, but the ideal outcome of any defensive strategy is to put people off attacking in the first place.
i think it’s drilled out of them. military training is designed to break people down and rebuild them.
I’m not sure what the fuck your problem is.
No problem, I was think I might have come on too strong with that last section though. Plot armour is just bad criticism to me, you can label basically any protagonist with it if you could. I just find it lazy criticism especially since bad things still happen to Luke (and the other characters) even in A New Hope.

I used to visit Taipei 2 to 3 times a year. It was usually some expo and the city is only an hour drive from my parents’ place. But I’d imagine, for instance, many Americans have never been to D.C. I am curious about your experiences if you don’t mind sharing.
If you count Auckland as the former capital that is! Otherwise no I haven’t visited Wellington. I am told it is somewhat a similar experience; metropolitan populace, harbourside shopping, etc.
Yeah I’ve been to both NZ capitals. I feel like Auckland is a bit more metropolitan-esque, big city-like, with more people and 90-degree crossroads around city blocks. Wellington’s street seems to me that its major roads are parallel to the seaside. It’s less crowded with people, and it’s windier.
But anyway, in my case, I used to be overwhelmed with the bustling nature of Taipei. People always have somewhere to go, often in a rush manner. Big city gotta be big city, I guess. It’s probably not the same for every capital, though.
I have been to D.C. many times. The first couple were of more consequence than the most recent visits. My mother took me when I was 7 or 8 and we saw the monuments (including the Vietnam Wall which my great uncle is on), Arlington cemetery, and waited in line for a long time one morning to get tickets to the White House tour the next day. It was a great trip. I fell in love with beauty of the Jefferson Memorial. It’s kinda out of the way of the others down by the water so many people skip it, but it’s the prettiest especially at dusk. I went back in 8th grade. It was our 8th grade trip so call it a multi day field trip. We hit the museums on the national mall, a few monuments, the Capitol building, and FBI headquarters. They have a really interesting tour. My fav was the air and space museum but the holocaust museum also stuck with me the most. Years later I’d go to Auschwitz, but till I did the holocaust museum was pretty real in my memory. All the other trips were just single night layovers either when I was flying with the Marines out of Miramar or at my current job, so less culture and more booze. One time we went to the newer part of the air and space museum out by IAD, but mostly just drunken stupidness. Actually one layover turned into 6 nights bc there were power outages and it messed up the skies around D.C. for a few days. This would have been around 2013 or 2014. I was new on the job and remember by the last night I was running out of money bc I had been on the road so long.
I’ve been to Amsterdam countless times. I really quite like the city, its got a lot to do and a lot to see and the fact you can get through all of it without needing a car is excellent. I also think its one of the better looking cities here in the Netherlands, especially compared to the other dam, Rotterdam.
Going to Tehran several times a year was a typical thing to do for me. My aunt lives there which made staying a bit easier than other cities, and it was also quite close to me (3-4 hour drive)
I like the city as a vacation destination as it has some super interesting places to visit but to live there? NEVER. Unless you’re a obscure billionaire who can live in the upper hills of the city, you’ll just see stinky, trafficked streets with air pollution.
